  1. Just an update, drained the oil today and it has turned to chocolate milk... that'll explain where the coolant went!
  2. Hi, Today (sunday) the girlfriend's c3 1.4 petrol (07) was running fine up until when after a short trip on start up again it flagged up the dreaded 'anti pollution faulty' message and when into limp mode/misfire... engine sounded like an old VW Beetle and very juddery and down on power. This was soon after she'd given a fairly long blast of the washer jets and I've read these can leak down onto the left-most injector? Not sure if related but she took a long (300 mile) trip with the car heavily-laden on Saturday and lots of stop-start London traffic, but she had no 'engine overheat' message (who's idea was it to not put a temp gauge on these?!) but I also noticed the coolant level had dropped to the bottom of the expansion tank. No bubbles in the coolant/oil or petrol smell, and no mayo on the oil cap. Got dark so couldn't troubleshoot any more. I did the timing belt/water pump back in August and it had been running perfectly with no issues/water loss etc until now. Anyone have similar issues/ideas? Cheers...
  3. Thanks Kaz, I don't suppose you remember what size the bolt is- I think I read somewhere it's 15mm?
  4. Hello, car is '07 C3 Petrol 1.4 'desire' with air con. Need to change the aux/serpentine/alternator belt as it's chirping away nicely, I see the tensioner has a large centre bolt, am I right in assuming I lever it with this to release tension to change the belt? Also, do I/can I dismantle anything at the side to make the change easier? I'm a classic Merc man so used to RWD/north-south engines with the belt at the front! :)
  5. Thanks for the replies, seems fairly involved then, I've recently done the oil/filter so I'll have to have another, closer look and if it's not too bad repair/paint it instead!
  6. Hello, new member here... my other half has a 2007 C3, 1.4 petrol 'desire', and her oil sump has gone rusty so I need to replace it soon. From what I've read and having had a quick look underneath at last oil change, it looks pretty straight-forward- just a couple of questions- does the exhaust get in the way or is there wiggle room to drop it down?... and is there a gasket for the sump pan- I've read that it might just be a bead of sealant instead but can't find a definite answer..? cheers :)
