  1. The tailgate catch wires are brown, purple and green (3 wires). The brown wire only registers 7.5 volts. When I jumper 12 volts across terminals the lock motor works. The problem appears to be a lack of adequate voltage. Looking at the wiring diagram the brown wire goes from the catch to the BSI terminal 2. The purple wire goes to the BSI terminal 16. It appears to be the BSI that is only sending 7.5 volts or a bad connection in the loom. A broken wire would only let zero volts through. Any suggestions?
  2. This morning I tried to hold in the door lock button to activate/deactivate the auto locking but nothing happened. The trip computer says the auto locking is activated but it doesn't lock the doors when driving. There seems to be a malfunction in the system. So far I have noticed the tailgate wont open, the rear window won't open and the auto locking feature doesn't work. Any suggestions. There are no rear parking sensors on this car even though the buttons appear to be there on the lower bumper, must have been an option.
  3. On my newly acquired C5 Tourer am trying to figure out the tailgate and rear window not opening. I have removed all the rear door covers and there doesn't seem to be much wrong so far. The voltage on the brown wire of the catch reads between 5 and 7 volts. To me this would indicate not a broken wire. After reading this post I wondered if the tailgate, rear window and rear parking sensors (also not working) think the car is moving at 6mph through some other malfunction, and thus would not receive the 12 volts needed. Any suggestions.
  4. I have removed the covers of the tailgate on my '05 C5 Tourer. Managed to remove the catch and checked the voltage on the brown wire to the green wire. Firstly I got around 5.5 volts then with the door open it went to 7 volts and with the engine running 9 volts. This seemed really weird. Pressing the actuator handle made no difference. Any suggestions. The rear window doesn't open either. Sounds like a bad contact somewhere but I wouldn't know where to start.
  5. Thank you! I really appreciate the advice.Brian
  6. Just purchased an 05, C5 Tourer. Locking wheel tool is missing. Dealer price for a new one is just over £55. New bolts are about £4 each. Any suggestions on how to get the old bolts out? Also missing are the spare key (£155) and hand book (£15). I have ordered the handbook from the dealer but they need the car to program the new key, needs to be booked in. Any suggestions or advise would be most helpful. When does the timing belt need to be replaced? Thanks in advance.
