On c4s, pattern filters have been know to disintegrate internally, causing loss of oil pressure. It just isn't worth fitting a cheap one. Paul.h & Routemaster, thank you for your advice. I'll do as you suggest and go to my local dealer for the washer and filter. I hadn't heard about the pattern issue and certainly don't want to risk oil pressure problems. Thanks again.

Hi guys I'm planning to change the oil on my 1.1L 2003. Is it advisable to renew the sump plug and washer, or just the washer? Euro Car Parts show various sizes of washer for the car, but I have no idea which one to buy? Thanks and any advice will much appreciated.
