  1. Thanks Paul h for your responses to my 2 posts. According to the Wiki entry which I've just read, the 04-08 series had new front and rear ends but the same centre section so presumably the seat mountings would be the same. As mine are not electrical this would make a changeover easier, so if I can't find a nice Exclusive it gives me more scope. I'd have to check carefully, of course.
  2. Friends. The limp mode cuts in after about 10 minutes at 70mph. However it is mild and only really affects the car up long hills. On flat or downhill sections I can keep up 70-75mph. It has been like this for 2-3 years. I can live with it and the economy is excellent but has anyone succeeded in fixing it and how ? Interestingly, when the weather turned cold and wet last October, it virtually stopped doing it. Anyone else experienced this ? Incidentally, I had the PDF changed 3 years ago (only £280) and it transformed the performance back to its original excellent acceleration in the gears. They're sold as an exchange unit. Dumbo.
  3. I'm looking to buy a 2nd series C5 after 14 years with my 2002 SX HDI. As these don't seem to have the front seat adjustable central armrests which I need, are my present seats seats transferable to the newer model. ? Are the floor pans the same? Do any of the 2nd series have them ? Thanks.
  4. Friends. After years of running GSA's and CX's, I now have a 2002 C5 HDI which I bought at 6000 miles. Now 118K. I changed the PDF at 90000 which transformed the car back to its original performance and only cost £280. Over the last 2/3 years it has suffered from the limp mode problem, but in a limited way. Some lights come on and as usual one can't accelerate but can 'gain speed' on the flat or downhill. I can keep up 70mph on the motorways but it slows significantly on long hills so you have to 'nurse' it a bit. The day after a long journey it returns to normal and I can drive it around town with its excellent acceleration undiminished. Over the wet and cold periods last winter, it virtually didn't go into limp mode at all. Not sure of the reason for this. Any advice on curing this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
