  1. Overall it's much better than my old Picasso and I'm very pleased with its looks & handling. 2 relatively minor points that annoy me: 1) The glove box is pathetically small (although I like the fact it's chilled by the aircon). 2) The large drawer I had under the drivers seat in the Picasso is now a much smaller drawer under the passenger seat of the C4. I'm guessing the above points are victims of the conversion from left to right hand drive but they're still annoying. Anyone know if the LHD C4 has a bigger glovebox??? G.
  2. Mine did exactly the same the other day but has been fine since. It was a very warm humid day which might have had some bearing on it but I don't know. I'm guessing it's just the rubber seal squeaking against the bodywork. You could always try a thin smear of vaseline around the seal and see if that cures it??? G.
  3. My insurance is around £280 fully comp for my 1.6SX through Esure. (34 YO, 10 yrs NCB, kept in garage) G.
  4. Well I've just been to Halfords and blown £50 on car wash sundries. Way I see it, £50 is a small price to pay to keep my £12000 car looking clean. Bought some Megs 'Gold-something-or-other' carwash, some Megs NXT wax, some Carplan alloy cleaner, woolen wash mit, polishing mit, silicone drying squeegie... I could go into the bloomin' valeting business :) I saw those clay bar things but have never used one. How do they work then?I don't really have too many bird sh*t / tree sap woes as the car is kept in a garage so maybe I don't need one?? G.
  5. I went for the 1.6 SX (petrol). Features in the higher models are nice but you've got to draw the line somewhere... Personally, I don't miss climate control. I don't like the way the fans go bananas when the cabin temp is much higher than your 'desired' temp. Much prefer the control you have with the manual aircon. As for the fixed hub steering wheel. I think the argument that the buttons on it fall easier to hand is cobblers as I've had no problem with cars with a conventianal setup. However the true benefits are in having a proper full sized airbag in there which you can't have with a rotating hub. Also it looks different and as far as I'm concerned, 'different' is good :) G.
  6. ...My new C4 that is :D Well I've only done about 80 miles in it so far but everything seems to work just fine and there are no bumps, rattles or squeaks (yet) so here's hoping I've got a good'un. Once you start to delve into the instruction book, you realise just how many toys and gadgets are built into this thing (must have gadgets). I particularly like the bluetooth phone setup, but then I'm easily pleased - :) It handles so much better than my old wallowy Picasso as well, much sharper steering etc. It's just like Xmas... G.
  7. Well I'm currently on my eighth car which is a Citroen Picasso (my first Citroen). I was aware when I bought it of Citroens poor reputation but I liked the car and I got the usual 'good deal'. After 4 years it has utterly faultless both electrically and mechanically. The dealer (Windsors of Wallasey) has been about as good as you could reasonably expect, so all in all I have been very happy so far. That's why I'm currently on the waiting list for a brand new C4 1.6 SX which I should hopefully have in a couple of weeks. Here's hoping it's as reliable as the Picasso! :D G.
  8. Yeah, apparently the microphone is built into the courtesy light (above the windscreen) which might add a complication. Either way, they designed the bleedin' car from scratch so it shouldn't present that much of a problem. Must be just a backlog or something... G.
  9. Hi all, Just stumbled across this site as I've just ordered a new C4 1.6SX Petrol hatchback (Wicked Red) and it seems to be a great source of info. I'm trading in my '02 reg Picasso as I just fancied an update :P In fact many moons ago I used to be a part of the Picasso forum, didn't know it was still going! Unfortunately I've got to wait intil mid-June to pick up my new toy which was longer than I expected. Apparently wanting the bluetooth option will add a coupe of weeks to the delivery time :( Anyway, waffle over... G.
