  1. A friend of mine has purchased a new 1.4 petrol C3 it has only done 3000 miles since new and has had the head gasget replaced after a week because of an oil leak . Guess what the oil leak is back and it seems to be from the area behind the Air con pump, he has tried to indentify exactly where the oil is coming from but cant find the cause without stripping components down. Could it be from a threaded hole in the block that has a stud or bolt missing , have any of you that work in a Citroen dealership come across this problem.
  2. My car is a 1.6 hdi since this thread started I have been recording the diesel I have used against the mileage. Most of my journeys are on duel carriageways where I travel to work. I have ignored the average fuel readings on the display and have worked them out using a calculator. I am very pleased with the result of 59.8 miles to the gallon with the cost of fuel at £0.95 a litre I am glad I bought the diesel model. I am sure I could get over 700miles to a tank the most I have recorded is 680 and I still had two bars left on the fuel gauge, approx 118miles left.
  3. I did try my local Citroen dealer here in Kent but as I said before they wanted £58. 59 for just Two I have got my replacements now £36.00 made by PJ Visualis part of the Valeo group. If anyone spots them in France put a message on the board regarding the price.
  4. I found another motor factor in my location that will supply a front pair of Valeos for £36.00 inc vat (Super Trade Price) so i have ordered these. Why are they so expensive compared to a normal blade? Big John D in his last post mentioned about buying them in France if you go over for a visit, my son agreed with him that he had seen the Valeos on sale in the Supermarkets at about half the price they cost in England. I wish he had got me a pair in January when he was in France . It just seems a case of Rip Off Britain again.
  5. I have got to replace both my wiper blades now 27mths old 17000 miles. I have found a local motor factor GSF car parts that can supply a front pair for £42.89 inc vat cheaper than the Citroen price of £58.59 inc vat which was quoted to me today. They have branches all over the U/K . The web address is gsfcarparts.com. I hope this will be of help to any C4 owners .

    C3 Boot

A friend has asked me if I can find out the dimensions of the boot space as he is looking to buy a second hand C3. He needs to fit a push chair in the boot and wants to make sure it fits. The Citroen official site measure's it in litres but I need to know the length, width and depth measurments can anyone help please (C4 owner)
  9. To Lab 444 I Use Hidsons at Rainham Kent you will get a first class job done there, dont mess about with the others as the standard of work at Hidsons is very good . They might even be able to price match your best quote you can only try. It would be nice of them if they could give a discount to forum members, think of the extra work they might get.

    Car Tax

Just renewed my road tax for the year £ 110.00. I have got a 1.6 hdi 92bhp not bad , cheaper than the wife's 998cc Micra.

    Car Tax

  12. My car got steamed up very bad, the windows were dripping on the inside and the air-con took forever to clear it. The cause turned out to be water getting into the boot from the o/s rear lamp unit ,(look for water in the lens) the dealer said the seal had gone and replaced the lamp .Its been o/k since
  13. Mike5483 and C4VTS As reported before I have had a knocking noise / rattle from the n/s/f and have also had new front shocks fitted. It seemed to cure it for a while but the noise came back. I had to return to the dealer regarding another matter and I asked them if they could have another look the car to investigate the noise. They were kind enough to loan me a C3 at short notice until my car was returned. Well so far so good I have not heard the noise again but it is early days as I have only been out in the car twice since it came back. I will let you know after Christmas if its still o/k and what parts were replaced if it proves successful.
  14. Went to my local dealer with the key today, they looked at it and said it could not come apart like it has unless it had been damaged and that it would not be covered under a normal warranty claim. Well I certainly have not damaged it as part of the moulding has broken inside, and I always press the button in when folding it . They are going to speak to Citroen to see if they will replace it as a goodwill gesture. If they dont my daughter will be disappointed as she will not be getting her C1 in the new year. I will keep you informed.
