  1. Sorry to butt in on this post (but I am sure original posted will need this advice as well) How hard is it to change the diesel filter - I did it on a ZX once 1.9TD, just reprimed with the bulb tool, but the 2.0 HDI does not have one of those?
  2. Hi, What might cause intermittent illumination of the engine warning light - I have purchased a W reg Xsara (thankfully with a warranty) - any ideas as I need to take it back to the garage next weekend. Also the oil warning device says it is empty - it is not, thankfully, is this a normal fault or even something that is easily repaired. That aside, the car is great and runs really well. Thanks. Duncan.
  3. But transponder works, does anyone know (roughtly) how much a new master key be? Or does it sound like something I could repair :-) Thanks in advance for any assistance or advice. Dunc
  4. Hi, I am considering buying a used Xsara with the LED display function, but the display is defective (works but lines all through it) I feel confident it is just the display that is duff - two questions: 1) Is it hard to change. 2) Is it expensive to change. Thanks in advance for any feedback. Also - what is the timing belt replacement frequency? Duncan.
  5. Thanks that is very helpful :)
  6. Hello, I currently run a Renault Laguna 1.9TDi and I am having the following challenges shall we say: Something is wrong with the injectors, and I am told I cannot (should not) blend nice-n-cheap veg oil in with the diesel without a conversion costing £ 1,200.00! My good old ZX (250K miles, no major failures), used to eat rather a good amount of Veg oil and never once complained. The Xsara 1.9TD, is this still the ZX engine, does anyone on here use a mixture in them? I am keen to find out before I purchase. Are they as reliable as the ZX was, frankly the Renault is starting to cost me money and it will almost 100K short of the final ZX value (it was sold as a going concern, prob still working!) :-)
