  1. Citroen C8, year 2003, 2.0 petrol version, Automatic. Ok last friday drove the car out, ABS fault popped up, then in succession the Auto gear fault, then something like brake fault, and the airbag fault but this usually is intermittent, then car gets stuck in i believe is 3rd gear possibly as i couldn't go up the hill after stopping the car. Really annoying i wish i could burn the damn thing down to the ground. Tiptronic gears don't work as well so i cant use the +- to shift the gears. im guessing its the auto gear selector switch, as the dealer replaced it with a used part before i boug
  2. Hi, I run a Citroen C4 1.6 hatchback auto 2005. I had an error message showing on my dash "anti-pollution failure". I had hoped it maybe a faulty sensor or a leaky joint but Yeomens Citroen diagnosed a failing catalytic converter and a failing coil pack (producing a slight misfire). I understand a misfire may not totally burn fuel which can in turn start to break down the catalytic converter. However, for the moment I cannot detect any obvious misfire or poor peformance. I am resigned to the fact that both the coil pack and converter will need exchanging. I am not prepared to go down the ro
  3. Hi, accidently put diesel in a petrol C1 and ran until the engine stopped. All fixed and the car is running fine except that the emission control light refuses to go out. The Citreon dealer said it might go with a good run but that didn't work, so they said it was the catalytic converter which they were happy to change for £1000. Needless to say we were not happy and have not taken them up on this offer. Since this has happened the car has had it's first MOT and sailed through even on emissions, so I'm a bit confused as to what this light accually means. Any ideas?
  4. I have a C5 LX 1749 cc (2001) While driving home late last night, I had to over take up hill. As I got to 50 mph it suddenly started to vibrate violently and become very sluggish on acceleration. Downhill would accelerate up to 60 mph, but uphill struggled. With the window open I could hear a very rough engine noise, reminiscent of old single cylinder motorcycles. This sounds like a misfire to me. Maybe only firing on one cylinder? As this happened under stress, is it more likely to be mechanical? I would be grateful for any ideas
