Guest POSc5 Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 Hi Many years ago, a 130bhp odd diesely wheezley was considered good... Has anyone fitted a chip to their C5 (MK1 shape) 2.2 HDi? And if so, has it made that much difference to the performance and fuel consumption? Should I wait until my clutch goes, and do it then? As the manufactors of the chip clain 400lb per ft torque!!! Guest qman3428 Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 I have done my Mk 2 2.0 hdi and raised it from 138 bhp to 178 bhp, More power more torque, more acceleration, less mpg, though if you drive it gently you will get more mpg but who chips an engine to drive it gently! With regard to your clutch it should not be slipping on full torque because you should have taken your foot off the pedal, therefore you should be using no more torque than now to get away and once the pedal is released and the clutch is fully engaged there is no problem.
