I am new to the forum, im faz from nottingham and recently purchased my 1.9 TD Zantia off autotrader recently, love it to bits. i do have few queries and would knew this would be the first point of call, i had petrol before and diesel is completely new to me lol

 

first of, my dash board light is dim, i looked on instruction manual page 19, number 21 is a dash board lighting rheostat, not in my car, is this a fuse problem?

 

second of all, when im refueling, i push the "thing" in and i can refuel without any locks, (sorry cannot explain properly). in other words someone on the street could open the cap and put water in. how do i lock this? my key does not have a central lock as it appears to have been removed.

 

thirdly, its 81000 milage, and got aservice history, its been service up to 29k, then nothing up to 60k then regular since. my timing belt needs to be changed every 55k. i have no record of it being changed and the seller reckons it was done at service, but this car was not serviced at 54k, i am doing 90 mile trip 5 days a week, would it be worth while getting this replaced? i have been quoted approx 9£ and its just the belt, dont i need water pump etc?

 

and finally i am looking to get this serviced, GSF have sold me the following (only)fuel filter, oil filter and air filter. i know im comparing with petrol, but do i not need oil???
