You can you will need a modulator connection so you can still use the controls on the stalk end of window washers of the streo control depends on what mk of c3 you have Have put a pioneer unit in my c5

If you (a) didn't let the BSI power-down properly before swapping the stereos and (b ) wired the new stereo directly into the ISO connectors without a proper harness adapter lead, there's your problem.

If you are lucky, you may not have screwed the BSI - run out and get an Autoleads or Citroen harness adapter, because a standard head is NOT wired the same as a Citroen-spec one.

The harness adapter corrects the wiring mis-match, allowing the stereo to work correctly. What Flitwick is referring to is an additional bunch of wiring adaptation that allows the remote buttons on the stalk to operate as standard.

Unfortunately, if you hook up a stereo without the harness adapter, there is a possibility of damaging the BSI - central locking often being cited as the thing that is most likely to be affected.

Bought the adapter and it didnt work, basically it is just an extention of the original wiring.I have just sorted mine for 40p.

Buy two cable connectors and cut and swop the red and yellow wires around. The central locking works fine as does everything else, except the head up display, still shows outside temp.Only other thing is to turn the radio off at the head unit when exiting the car no big deal though
