Hi all,

I'm quite desperate looking for some advice for my C5 2.2 HDI (2001 year automatic gearshift). I bought this car a month ago and of course didn't check for all things as I should.

Now, the car has 198 000km on it's tacho with the service book (regulary maintained in citroen garages), I've exchanged the timing belt, water pump and some other stuff. The problem is following, the car is very lazy, it goes quite fast to 120kmh but the max speed I got on it was 160kmh at 3,5k rpm with a fuel consumption of 15,5l. Forgot to mention I haven't seen the RPM meter going over 3,5k at in any gear with any speed except on neutral (then it goes easy on 5k) - is that normal? I used to drive some other cards same size with smaller engines going much faster, reacting better so I'm a way confused. There are no error lights on the dashboard neither the "check control" screen.

The second problem happening is, that the front windshield washer is not working, when I pull the thing to release some water it always keeps flowing on the rear window. what can I do about it?

Please help out a desperate student :-)

Not sure if this will help but when I got my 2.2 it was very slow of the mark and would top out at about 90mph (yeah I know). Turned out the accelarator cable had play in it, I adjusted it and all fine now. Cable is under the fuse box area in engine.

what am I supposed to do with the accelarator cable? I mean how to fix it? btw. I think that it's drive-by-wire since it has a tempomat. Forgot to say, the top speed is the same on the tempomat only the acceleration is better...

The cable may have some slack in it you can asjust it in the engine bay on the right hand side under, near where the fuse box is.

I here it is a common problem on the 2.2.
