How To Change A Front Bumper On A C3

Thought i would share some experience i had with you because i could not find info anywhere on how to remove the front bummper on a C3.

 

This is the procedure:

 

1 Remove 2x10mm bolts from either end of the top of the grill and 2x screws that use star heads. Then angle grill towards the front and it should lift out easily.

2 Remove centre bolt that has been revealed by the removal of the grill with a star screwdriver.

3 Remove front wheels

4 Remove the plastic wheel arches by using a star screwdrive at the front lower point to undo the clip. There are now about 7 or 8 clips around the the wheel arch guard that need to be removed, to remove these pull the centre's out first which is what locks them in. There also clips along the underneath of the bumper that also need to be removed.

5 There are now 2x10mm bolts that are are at either end of the bumper that need to be removed to release the bumper from the front wings.

6 To pull bumper off release 2 clips that were either side of centre screw under the grill.

 

Hope this guide helps as i could not find it anywhere else.

 

If you have to replace the lower grill on a facelift C3 as i had to do this is how you have you to do it.

 

Also to remove a headlamp unit you have to remove the bumper to expose the 2x10mm retaining bolts.
