1969tony Posted February 5, 2006 Posted February 5, 2006 Hello all...................After experiencing various MPV's and their problems i thought i would try a C8, so i traded in my Galaxy (01 2.3 Ghia) for a 2.0 HDI Exclusive with 85000 miles, yes i did say 85000. The reason for this rash px was i wanted all the toys sat nav etc but the only way i could get one was with piles of miles. What a suprise, the car feels like its done 8500 miles not 85000 this is the best diesel engine i have driven and i have driven many diesels over the past 10 years. Ok its a little underpowered for the size of car but no worse than the 2.2 diesel Espace or the 2.8 CRD Grand Voyager. This is the first Citroen i have ever driven and i am very pleased so far. I have all the service history and receipts for work carried out and there doesn't appear to be any major problems apart from a very expensive filter. The car is not without fault as the interior quality is crap to say the least and there isn't a lot of room inside considering the size and i cannot get a comfotable driving position being 6'4 and my feet don't fit into the foot well comfortably. My point is if you bought a different car with 85k on the clock and was only 2.5 years old you would know its been used, this car hides it well. It out performs any other MPV on the market trust me i've tried them all (almost) Quote
wozza Posted February 5, 2006 Posted February 5, 2006 Is the filter the aircon filter or the engine filter? If its the engine one just get something thats aftermarket K&N etc that way you wont need it replaced come service time. And if its underpowered theres cheap ways to fix that around £300 remap from www.angeltuning.co.uk gets you another 45bhp more and bags more torque. As well as usually giving you better fuel economy. To put it into some perspective in test runs the C8 0 - 60 was over 13 seconds was 10seconds after the remap. Obviously mid range is affected as well so overtaking etc is a little easy and driveability is greatly enhanced. They will come out to your home workplace etc and map the car for you as well. And if you decide in a couple weeks you dont like it and its not living up to what you expected they will change it back and refund your money. Might be worth taking a look if you think the car is underpowered though. Even if you dont like it nothing really too lose as you will get your money back. There pretty good though come highly recommended on other forums. Otherwise hope you enjoy the car and welcome to the forums mate. Quote

I am getting a gratting or rubbing sound when i turn the wheel more than i turn, sounds like it's rubbing or catching something plastic behind the dash, anyone got any ideas what this might be ? pork_pie Posted February 5, 2006 Posted February 5, 2006 The Angeltuning prices sound good. Them robbing bastards at Superchips charge no less than £500 for any modification. Quote

(i own a fiat too) But loads of them on there have there remaps done by angel tuning. 1 guy had an engine problem and fiat ended up loading stock maps etc back onto the ecu when they fixed it was a mechanical problem not an ecu one angel redid the map for him free of charge cause.
