Zigmondo Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 I have a c4 exclusive and I’m trying to find out if it’s possible to have the factory Bluetooth option fitted now that I have bought the car. I did buy the car new but was not given this as an option due to this particular car being pushed out the door before the latest reg change. I did get a cracking deal though so if this is not possible ill live with it. The salesman did say there maybe some garages around the country that may offer this as an after sales option but this particular garage could not offer this type of service. I have called around a few dealers but with no real answers, no one seems to understand what I’m trying to do. They have offered the third party parrot system but this will not use the car’s display or steering wheel functions to operate the phone. The fittings for the microphone seem to be in place next to my interior light so I presume all the fittings are in the car and all I need is the Bluetooth head unit! I also have a blank button bottom left on the steering wheel where is answer call button usually goes. If anyone has any ideas on how I might be able to get this neat factory option fitted or who I should contact please let me know. Quote
wozza Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 right on my steering wheel all the buttons are taken up but theres no button for a phone but i dont have the phone headunit. mine just has the buttons for adjusting the displays and changing vehicles options there. But id say buying the stock headunit aftermarket aint gonna be cheap. talking a good few hundred quid. Probably be best to get an aftermarket headunit with bluetooth function that you can pick up for around £250 better sounding as well. Quote
Guest CE05LDB Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 Get in touch with Citroen UK and ask can this be done and if so can you have a list of dealers who offers this service Quote
wozza Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 If its a headunit change dont expect much change from £400 think the standard non bluetooth unit is around £300 if memory serves. Quote
hertsnminds Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 You can have it done on a VTR+ spec as I have already asked the same question. There are 2 part numbers in the Citroen parts database for a bluetooth option. The first is under £50 and is a unit that plugs into the accessory socket. The fully integrated Citroen system costs about £250 and they charge you for 3/4 hour install time which with VAT brings the total closer to £350. The acutal bluetooth module fits into one of the triangle shapes next to the radio controls. The parts catalogue also shows a phone holder that can fit into another of the blanks next to the radio but that is not part of the bluetooth install. There are also 3rd party solutions which cost different amounts inbetween. I would say it is not worth doing as you only pay about £25 for a hang on the ear bluetooth headset which I find works very well. IanBlack 55 VTR+ Quote
Guest CE05LDB Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 Some Dealers are pritty good no to charge. But all according. My Dealer has been great. I paid £26 for a CD Draw and the service manager fitted it with no charge. And they fitted a mirror on my brothers Saxo with out charging labour and they did the same when the glass needed to be replaced in a mirror on the C3. Like I said all according your dealer. Quote
wozza Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 when we had our fiat they were like that some little sods ripped the wing mirror off was just the cost to buy the new mirror was put on for free. Am quite surprised you can get it that cheap for the system though. Quote
Zigmondo Posted February 14, 2006 Author Posted February 14, 2006 Thanks for the replies, Ill call my dealer up again to find out about these bluetooth part numbers. Ill see if they will do the fittings for free as they did not give me the option to have it added in the first place! The original factory option is £175. Thanks again Quote
dave&trace Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 we have just replaced our Vtr+ 2.0 for a scot yellow VTS 180 it has nav drive with built in phone it is a really good option when the phone rings it cuts into the radio or sat nav also you can make voice commands from the steering wheel butons. It is really safe and simple to use. This should be standard on all cars. wozza Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 What buttons does the call bit replace as theres no spaces left on my steering wheel so just curious? Quote
hertsnminds Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Found the part number for the full Citroen bluetooth kit9477C1I was quoted £265.97 for the part and £68 for fitting. I was given a total price of £325 including VAT and fitting not quite sure how that works out from the 2 numbers above, must be Citroen maths :D IanBlack 55 VTR+ Quote
lee_marshuk Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Hi Wozza, Its in the bottom left bit of the steering wheel - you have two buttons and a roller don't you? Well the top button does voice command and the bottom bit is call control. I'll send you a pic if you want.... As far as I am aware the only incompatibility with the bluetooth option is you can't have it with the NaviDrive system - although why you'd want it if you have the superb navidrive system is beyond me!! I can't see any reason whatsoever for not being able to have the bluetooth fitted afterwards if you don't have navidrive, but I've always found Citroen UK to be helpful. If they don't assist you much, go to the garage you bought it off and winge at them, get them to do the donkey work and find out the costs. However, like Wozza said, I wouldn't expect much change from £400!! Quote
wozza Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 Bottom left controls my interior lights dimming and my climate control on my car. Dont think id sacriface that for bluetooth then agan i cant fit bluetooth to mine no more since went and put a full aftermarket stereo in my car. But hell it met the parent approval i managed to convince my mother subs are not bad thats gotta count for something lol. Quote
hertsnminds Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 Bottom left controls my interior lights dimming and my climate control on my car.I think the bluetooth controls sit outside the existing ones. With the cruise control you have the SET+ and SET- on the inner ring and the PAUSE and REG 0 LIM switch on the outer ring. The bluetooth switches sit on the outer ring where your dimming and climate control are on the inner ring. If you zoom on the steering wheel pic on this web page I think you can see themhttp://www.citroen.com/CWW/fr-FR/RANGE/Pri...005_COMFORT.htm IanBlack 55 VTR+ Quote
lee_marshuk Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 Aaah no I have those as well. Its on the outer rim as hertsnminds points out. Quote
philstott1983 Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 The problem of installing the Citroen bluetooth system, I think after some help from here and many phone calls speeking to people with half an answer, I have the answer: The bluetooth system i've found will be like shown in the operators manual of the C4, where the controls listed then become available on the fixed steering wheel centre. The buttons (dont know them off top of my head) become available on the south-west location of the fixed mounting with the north-west being cruise control buttons, north-east the car stereo controls and sout-east the navi-drive system (if installed - blank if otherwise). The bluetooth system is required in two parts, firstly, the expensive one. This is the Parrot VH3000 what Citroen quote as part number 9477C1. Secondly, a fitting kit is required, Citroen part number 9701 95. The fitting kit will allow the first part (as citroen would install) to connect into the existing wiring loom, because without it, the connections wouldn't match. The prices! From Citroen, they want £50 for part no. 9701 95, and £275 for part no. 9744C1. Each dealer is seperate, so installation cost may vary but I got quoted £70, giving me a complete price of £395 inc. VAT. However, Part number 9744C1 can be found on internet auction websites (you know the one!) for £200 (+£8 P&P) whilst the fitting kit can be obtained for £!( (+£5 P&P). Obviously this includes installation. I'm new to this but thought I'd post this because you guys helped me come to what I think is the solution. I'm off to buy the two parts and going to fit them myself and will keep you informed of the results! If all else fails, my local dealer said they can still fit the parts for £70, if I supply them so if I fail in installation myself, at least i've still saved money with them fitting it. Fingers crossed. Loving the C4 though, got the new special edition C4 Cool, gone are the days of manually changing my temperature, putting my own wipers and lights on etc........ Quote
wozza Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 Welcome to the forums mate. Your the first one here with the Cool model. For that price I would have gone after market you can pick them up cheaper getting a pioneer bluetooth unit. And there better. Plus give you MP3 playback in the car, more powerful amp better sound. And the "South East" controls on the wheel are dependant on the model of car. In the VTR+ they control the trip computer basically add a dimmer, mouse scroll type wheel for the menus escape, menu, select button etc. Well thats what they are on my model anyways. Quote
philstott1983 Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 I thought all the fixed steering wheel controls where standard, obviously not! Not to worry. Yeah the cool's great, with it being special edition only had choice of four colours, but great colours to choose from. Got the Iron Grey myself. Had been a keen admirer of the C4 for a long time, wanting the Coupe but due to having a little nipper in the family, hatchback it was. The cool was the same price as the SX but with £1500 worth of extra's, daft not to take advantage of and what a difference it makes! Only one problem, broke my leg and cant drive the car, best make sure the missus dont crash it in the mean time! Quote
wozza Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 Yeah the COOL spec is basically a midway option between VTR and VTR+ spec. or SX and VTR+ i think in the hatchback. Most of the internal options from the VTR+ just non of the external options. So if your not too fussed about having 17" wheels etc its the best spec to go for. And has a good deal on it. Quote
philstott1983 Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 Ive just got my hands on the Citroen part number 9477C1, the Parrot VH3000 what a dealer has told me is the bluetooth kit for my C4. Within the box there wasnt the controls that fit on to the fixed centre of the steering wheel, to control the bluetooth hardware. Is this ok, or should they be in there? If i've misunderstood and the controls are required additionally is there any advice on how can I get them? Its proving quite akward to add the Citroen approved bluetooth system, having not had it installed as an extra upon purchase, Bloody hell! Quote
wozza Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 Why aftermarket is the way. £175 quid chuck in new headunit route microphone somewhere job done. Mainly saying that cause of the price reduction as well. Just dont get the steering controls...yet. Quote
parafitz Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 Hi, I have a C4 VTR+ and am also attempting to find out about Bluetooth. I've contacted Citreon UK who directed me to my local garage. They will be contacting me shortly so I'll keep you posted Quote
