itsmywifes Posted April 27, 2003 Posted April 27, 2003 Well nobody told us the waiting list for servicing would be that long! We booked it in when it had 1400 on the clock and it was actually completed with nearly 4,000 showing. But no dramas. Nothing to complain to the dealer about, in and out in just forty minutes including a pressure wash. MPG seems to be settling over the 60 mpg now as the engine loosens up. The poor Puma hardly ever gets an outing anymore, the C3 is the car of choice. Sorry, bit of a boring report really, but I can't invent faults if they aren't there. IMW Quote

I know you must be sooooooo peeved with all the probs you're having but remember it's Citroen your bone of contention is with not the rest of us!!! Quote
Tony_T Posted April 28, 2003 Posted April 28, 2003 Boring not at all IMW, just the kinda story I like reading, must be good if it keeps the puma kenneled up eh. Heres to trouble free motoring till the next service. Quote
itsmywifes Posted April 28, 2003 Author Posted April 28, 2003 Appreciate where you chaps are coming from (Pork/Moose) and you have my every sympathy. But honestly it's not smugness, I can only speak as I find and our particular C3 is a little cracker. We choose it after testing quite a few other cars. Inevitably you accept that it can't win on every account (Slower than the SEAT, notchier gear change than the Fiesta) but it really does do what it says on the tin. As you can see, with nearly 4,000 miles since March 5 it's not being cossetted. I'll report back honestly on every problem (Want to hear about the soft paint on my Ford?) Even having paid 55 quid for the Moduboard that somebody (Was it Alan FC?) got for 35 quid. IMW Quote
AlanFC Posted April 29, 2003 Posted April 29, 2003 IMW, I opened up your post with trepidation, phew! I'm so glad that all is going well, our C3 hdi 16v has nearly 200miles now and is a great car, long may it remain so. As you may have seen from another thread I too tested loads of cars but as a combined package taking into account everything and the willingness of my dealer to accept my offer. I'm well happy. Happy motoring, AlanFC Yes the moduboard is worth it, much more so than the trolley included in my Picasso Quote
Tony_T Posted April 29, 2003 Posted April 29, 2003 Apparently......so I'm told, the moduboards were s'possed to be a standard at the onset, but there was quality issues with them which has now been addressed and they're now manufactured elsewhere, might explain why they're being phased back in as a std on the 2003 (april 03) models. Quote
pork_pie Posted April 29, 2003 Posted April 29, 2003 The moduboard takes up too much space when its up. Another gimmick. The research money use for it should have been ploughed into proper parts delivery department. However seeing as its a plastic part, nothing should go wrong with it but then again, it could get rusty. Quote
itsmywifes Posted April 30, 2003 Author Posted April 30, 2003 Moduboard. In that it adds greatly to the flexibility of the luggage compartment I'd say 'yes' it is a simple but invaluable addition. Certainly haven't been conscious of it using space that we otherwise use, but so far the car has only been used for the daily commmute and evening recreation trips (boot empty) or the supermarket and d-i-y runs. Haven't even had the rear seat folded yet, which is probably when it really comes into its own. Porky, if you really find it a problem why don't you put it up for sale here? Thirty quid in your pocket and all that extra space you need? IMW Quote
pork_pie Posted April 30, 2003 Posted April 30, 2003 Thirty quid? The car or the moduboard? E mail me on pork_pie_manc and well thrash out a deal. Quote
organist Posted April 30, 2003 Posted April 30, 2003 Dear all, the moduboard is a great idea As an organist, I can hide my portable church organ under the moduboard and put other stuff on top without damaging the keyboard. It also contains things and stops them scudding around the boot. Richard Quote
AlanFC Posted May 20, 2003 Posted May 20, 2003 My dealer supplied one for £35, I suppose if you really wanted to push it, just get a copy of the advertised spec. at the time you bought the car (mine states categorically that it comes with a moduboard) and then insist that they supply one free (the one that you've already paid for that is when you bought the car without it, if you get my drift.) If they wont give you one gratis, free and for nothing just mention that you'll speak to trading standards ref your position. It is an offence to advertise something if you have no intention of supplying it. I felt a bit guilty insisting on one as I'd pared the price of the car to the bone almost (£8995) C3 HDi 16v, SX, Black, delivered in days. Yeah, I know I'm a soft touch. Regards, AlanFC Quote
itsmywifes Posted June 1, 2003 Author Posted June 1, 2003 Update to the update Just passed 7,000 miles this weekend. (Since Early March delivery) Nothing to report. ;) IMW Quote
