By early next week, I should have had my Nokia blue tooth car kit fitted.

Anyone know of any issues with getting this done?

Does the CD stereo in the C3 offer automute functions? and if it does automute will it lose kiss100 and give me radio 2?

Its actually being fitted at Nokia Offices, so no worries about Citroen Dealers not knowing what they are doing lol.

Bluetooth is a wireless protocol that allows devices such as computers/phones/pda etc to communicate with each other.

In this case the phone can remain in my pocket or bag or laptop case etc, it communicates through radio signals with the car kit.

all that is visible of the car kit is a 'nokia' button, this will answer calls, allow voice dialing and alter the volume control.

as i switch on the ignition, the car kit will sense my phone.
The hands free also mutes the stereo during a call.

Thanks.

I think I followed most of that.

In the olden days I used to have a car kit for one of the really big mobiles (We are talking mid 1980s here) The huge phone used to live in the boot and there was just a handset in the car. Sounds similar but without the wires. Or at least, without the wires to the actual phone.

Do you mind me asking roughly what this would cost? Do you have to have a Nokia or do other manufacturers have the same thing?

Why is it called Blue Tooth?

I work for nokia so im getting it fitted for work purposes, I read somewhere that they cost around £250 maybe some for fitting. they have to be professionaly fitted.

You also need a compatible handset.

As far as I know, only nokia make blue tooth car kits, however they are compatible with blue tooth phones made by other people like motorola, ericsson, siemens etc..

and as for the name, not sure at all.
