ham's c4vts Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 Just found this on the xsara forumfor a C4 exhaust wozza http://www.xsarasportsclub.com/forum/viewt...topic.php?t=406 Quote
wozza Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 Stop tempting me dont wanna spend anymore money on it! Lol. If i bought the exhuast id have to do the whoel lot induction kit and remap among other things. Plus im broke right now. THink if i was doing anything to it next though would be lowered / stiffer suspension would love t get it on some coilovers dont want it ridiculously low i just want the handling improved. Quote
ham's c4vts Posted March 22, 2006 Author Posted March 22, 2006 i would of thought my vts would of been slightly lower just like the xsara vts was Quote
wozza Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 Lowering springs are fairly cheap £100 or so. And can be fitted yourself. Various ones available from -20mm to 40mm After that its getting too low. 40mm seems about perfect though gets rid of the gaps in the arches and just makes the car look so much nicer probably helps a fair bit in the handling as well. But i thought the VTS was slightly lower than the rest anyway? Quote
ham's c4vts Posted March 22, 2006 Author Posted March 22, 2006 no no lower that yours, the xsara vts was a lot lower than the vtr Quote
wozza Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 I know the setup is stiffer on the VTS and the steering is a little more possitive feeling but i woulda thought it got lowered even if only slightly. You seen citroens site though recently apparently now the VTS has a 6 speed gearbox..i think thats a mistake somehow though. As the HDI that had the 6 speed box no longer does lol. Quote
ham's c4vts Posted March 22, 2006 Author Posted March 22, 2006 no its just the diesel vts with a 6 speed box oh and the exclusive? Quote
Stuey Posted March 25, 2006 Posted March 25, 2006 I assume that guy has a VTS?? the VTR doesnt have a visable exhaust so that must mean that their is loads of cutting to do?? very very tempting though...so is the lowering damn you wozza!! Quote
wozza Posted March 25, 2006 Posted March 25, 2006 To stop the cutting you could pull the black insert off a VTS citroen do sell them as well i know the whole kit front bumper, rear bumper etc from the main dealers is only around £300 so i cant see it being much to just get that single bit of plastic. Then have the exhaust matched to that. Lowering is cheap im just trying to find out if coilovers off a 307 would go on admittedly isnt so cheap however be a bit better than just sticking some springs on. Plus a 65mm drop sounds tasty lol. Otherwise there are some 20mm springs and 40mm springs available i think. Quote
Stuey Posted March 25, 2006 Posted March 25, 2006 I know they sell replacement stuff oh I know! some stupid woman ran into the back of me at the begining of Febuary sooo close to being a write off...they sell front wings too again some muppet decided his 4X4 needed to have a chat with me... Quote
wozza Posted March 25, 2006 Posted March 25, 2006 Ouch i nearly had a believe it or not a white transit go into the side of me. I was going round a roundabout and he decided he wasnt gonna stop at the red light and just about went smacking into the side of me. Luckily the next lane was free and i swerved out the way fshtailed a bit and then slowed down when i could. ***oops*** me up big time though missed him by inches. And some other guy decided to just come out from a junction right in front of me i was doing 30 comes out about 6 foot ahead of me swerved round him and the cheeky ***oops*** had the nerve to beep at me!! Quote
Stuey Posted March 25, 2006 Posted March 25, 2006 other drivers thats the problem with roads today!! I am a relativly new driver, passed about 7 months ago so all the road rules are still fresh in my head and some of the stuff you see is incredible, I cant believe that half of the drivers on the road are either dead or in prison!! mandatory test every 5 years is clearly the way forward IMHO Quote
wozza Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 I agree with that. Once i got a bit more money i plan to join the IAM but its £85 to join and with my own apartment and running the car i really dont have that much spare cash floating around when im also at uni. BUt as soon as i get some spare cash i want to join the IAM. Was also thinking about getting some track lessons etc. Quote
Stuey Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 The Max Driver course is meant to be very good, it is run by IAM and saves you 25% on your insurance with Adrian Flux http://www.max-driver.com/ I have a track session book at Bruntingthorpe (the same place FCS is at) at the end of July. It is basically an introduction to performance driving. You start in an Evo then you work your way up to a Lambo Gallardo. I used to race when I was younger and I would eventually like to go back to it again. Quote
wozza Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 Gonna go have a look at that Max Driver thing 25% off sounds good though. Quote
Stuey Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 not sure if it will help, if I took the course my insurance would go up nearly 500 quid. It may well help you being in the dodgy area...I think it is more for performance cars to be honest Quote
wozza Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 Why would your insurance go up? Theres something a little messed up there. I know when looking at the IAM test etc those few insurance companies that do discount for it usually cahrge more and the discount is something stupid like £10. But id rather know that im a safer driver and a better driver than most other people. Plus it would generally save you more money because they teach you to drive conservatively getting the best progress without the need to use lots of fuel up. And my next car is gonna be a performance car. At moment im looking at getting for a weekend track type car a 200SX. Sounds like fun to me rear wheel drive and after a little fettling 300bhp. Fun cars if you like going sideways anyway. Which is why im after it wanna have a fun car. But keep my C4 for my commuting. Quote
