Hi all, this is my first post on here, just recently purchased a 1999 Xantia Exclusive, which I'm very happy with, one problem that i have is that the rear electric windows don't work, all the switches have power, power is also at the motors but nothing happens, not even a click. Was wondering if one on here had any ideas.....could it be a relay,if so where is the relay for the rear windows

Hi 57Steevo,check the wiring in the rubber bellows where it goes in the rear door, you will probably find that some wires have broke,I had 4 wires broke on the O/S/R and 3 on the N/S/R,believe this is a common problem on the Xantia.Hope this helps mate :)

No worries steevo mate, hope you sort it,if you dont mind me asking what Xantia have you got ?

No joy with the electric windows so took the brutal option of converting to manual winders.I've got a ready supply of spare parts at the moment as the xantia I've just bought is to replace my old '98 LX turbo diesel which finally expired 2 weeks ago after many years loyal service. The 'new' one is X reg,HDI SX which has 120,000 miles on clock but has lots of service history so I'm hoping has plenty of life left.It appears the last owner was a bit uncaring..leaving problems like the rear windows and the seats which are shabby. So I've been busy swapping stuff from the old one.New one seems mechanically sound (will hold breath for a few weeks and hope no faults appear) and bodywork is very good(few minor dings and scratches but sound). So far so good,Ive also swapped tyres which were much better on old car.Suspension seems fine but I'm toying with idea of removing svheres from old car before goes to scrap man as ony 18 months old, just in case but not sure yet.

Thanks for your imput Stui, really appreciated

cheers,Steevo
