len112 Posted March 29, 2006 Posted March 29, 2006 I picked up my new c2 vts on monday , but can't figure out how to use the speed limiter , the handbook isn't too clear could someone offer some pointers please Quote
hertsnminds Posted March 29, 2006 Posted March 29, 2006 According to the Citroen website the VTS spec C2 does not have a speed limiter. The only way to get one is the luxury option pack on the SX and Start Stop models. It does have a Self-programmable audible over-speed warning which you use by getting to the speed you want and holding the button in. Then every time you reach that speed the car beeps at you. Have Citroen started spec swapping again? The switch for cruise control and speed limiting in the C4 is marked REG (regulate) and LIM (limit) there are also + - and Pause buttons to change settings. Do you have any buttons like that? To set the limiter in the C4 you set the switch to LIM use the + and - buttons to set the speed and press the Pause button to turn the function on. It refers to the control you mention in the manual but my car set up is different , though I'm hopeful that the switch means the function is there somewhere Quote
philstott1983 Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Reply seems late but here goes: I once had a C2, SX and i had a speed limiter button to the right of the stereo and it took me weeks to figure it out. Pressing the buttong will turn it on with a light on the button to indicate this, and pressing again will turn it off, fair enough! If you hold the button down for a period of a few seconds, a noise sounds (like a plingy noise). This means you have set the speed limiter to the speed that you was doing at the time you was holding the button, and whenever the limiter is on, going over the set speed will sound a warning. The warning sounds in three beeps, and will sound every time you go over the limit. Once it has sounded, it shouldnt keep sounding when your over the set limit. To be honest, a pointless feature in many cars but its there as standard so take it Quote
stimulator Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 The terminolgy leaves a bit to be desired on this. The button to the right of the stereo does activate a warning that sounds when you exceed a set speed. Setting it is difficult. Once you reach that speed it beeps at you BUT it doesn't automatically reduce the speed. It's also fitted to the Picasso, I have one of those too but it's as much use as a chocolate tea pot. Quote
Guest CE05LDB Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 My brothers C3 Exclusive has speed limiter mine dosen't. Your not missing much. In My C3 I just set the cruise control for the speed limit. My over speed warning is set 70mph. It was handy going on holiday down Devon. Some times the cruise control would creep over to 71mph the overspeed warning would beep which is handy as I knew not to go faster. To be honest I tried my brothers in a 30mph zone the other day and I thought I rather use cruise control. Quote
Guest Andy Allman Posted November 10, 2007 Posted November 10, 2007 It is not actually a speed liniter (this is incorperated into the cruise control) it is an overspeed warning, what you have to do is get to the speed you want it to beep at you and then hold it down, it will only work when the orange light is on though. :P :P Quote
Guest Yorkshireman Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Sorry to reply to such an old topic but it's something I've been playing with since I've got my C2 and I cannot get it to work. I go at 30MPH and hold it in and even after five seconds it still doesn't notify me it has activated. Maybe I have my music too loud. Any ideas? Quote
