Hi everbody I have just joined the forum after using the owners club for information on my citroen Xsara. I have had my 2001 Xsara for just over 6 months and it has been an 'eventful' time - put it that way. So far the clutch has had to be replaced, the wheelbearings on the passenger side wheel has had to be replaced and the central locking has gone wonky and had to be disconnected. I've gotten into the habit of calling my car 'Forest Gump' because, as he described a box of chocolates, every time I get in the car "your never know what you are going to get".

Recently it has developed 2 problems which are really baffling me:

1. CD Changer/Radio. I have only just started using the CD Changer and it kind of works. After playing a CD for while (say 2 or 3 tracks) it decides to stop working for a couple of seconds then comes back on. When this happens the light on the Radio fascia dims. Other times the CD stops playing altogether and decides to switch to some random radio station and not amount of pressing switches will coax it back!!! I am not technically minded, especially when in comes to electrical/electronic pieces of equipment, so any help would be very welcome and gratefully received.

2. Secondly, over the last few days my air temp reading has been going haywire. I was out for a drive yesterday and its read out stated that the temp outside the car was -40. Now, I live in Glasgow and it does get a bit cold up here but -40 in the middle of April is a bit hard to believe. Today, even though, it was quite mild it first displayed "----" then decided to read -37!!! Again, any help would be gratefully received.

I find it very interesting reading about other forum members car problems and their solutions. Keep up the good work.

Best wishes
