My rear window is closed shut but worse I have a problem whereby the car thinks the boot lid is open and causes the dash and audible alarm intermittently but often regularly. The lights in the boot flicker like a disco! which is why the car thinks the boot lid is open. One dealer has been unable to fix it - does anyone have any suggestions? Often it doesn't do it for a while - 10 minutes then you open a window or change radio station and it sets it off again.

:D I too have a rear tailgate window that refuses to open. I've had the car since new (Oct 2002) this problem originaly occured whilst under warranty and was curred by a complete new window being fitted. Obviously Citroen have a serious problems with some aspects of the electrics on these cars and should be addressing the issue. So if anyone knows of a cure with paying a very expensive trip to a Citroen dealer I would appreciate some advice as well.

I have an October 2002 C5 2.0HDi estate which is on its fourth back window, as it keeps sticking, and this latest one has also now stuck. All of the previous windows have been replaced under warranty. I think I will simply have to do without an opening boot window until I sell the car! There would appear to be a bit of a design or quality control problem here - any comments Citroen?

There's a solution for the rear window problem.

The reason why the complete windows must be replaced is the fact that the power-connection is "melted" into the window.

If you open the rear window, you can connect the original power outlets with a simple piece of wire. Just tape it to the glass itself and there you go...a nice working window !!!

If you want some more information, just let me know.....
