I was followed home by my wife in her car after a visit to the dealer for an air-con repair. It appeared that each time I changed up a gear the brake lights came on (but not when changing down). It seems to happen mostly at lower speed, since we went out again and tried over a range of speeds. The technician in the dealer couldn't associate the problem with anything he had done to repair the air-con (leaking condenser). Of course the problem could have been present for a while, but I hadn't been followed by anyone to tell me.

I did notice that the brake light switch is very sensitive, requiring very little pedal travel to operate. I am wondering if operating the clutch could be flexing the mounting for the pedals.
