hertsnminds Posted April 10, 2006 Posted April 10, 2006 Just broke a new barrier in my 1.6HDi (110) over 600 miles on 1 tank :) Actually did 632.7 with a claimed 35 miles until empty showing. Had to put in 54.31 litres (11.95 gallons) to achieve this. Giving close to 53mpg. The car now thinks it can go 733 miles until the next fill up (but I suspect this is optimistic). The car had been giving about 50mpg but on the last couple of tanks seems to have gone to 52mpg (in real terms this is the difference between about 560ish and 610ish miles between fill ups. So at just over 6,000 miles the engine must be starting to loosen up. Ian Black 55 VTR+ Quote
wozza Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Mine used to give me around 340 miles to a tank it will now give me 420ish to a tank on the readout. Mines started to loosen up as well pulls better now anyway. Just still not getting much over 28mpg usually though. but that is city centre driving so lots of stopping and starting. Quote
Joeblunt Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 My 1.6Hdi (92) returns an average of 50 - 54 mpg :) (currently 17.5k on the clock and 16 months old) Quote
ham's c4vts Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 acording to the computer on my vts 180 im getting 27.8 mpg which is about as good as i got on the same town driving as my 1.6 16v xsara, but not done any long distance yet. also been runnig on super unleaded Quote
wozza Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 Guessing its just the 1.6 16v engines that drink fuel for there capacity then if you got similar consumption as im getting 27.3mpg according to the trip computer. And thats driving softly. Quote
Mat Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 The trip computer on mine says 33mpg. No matter how i drive i cant really effect it. I drive 15 miles to/from work each day, half of that journey i rarely get above 2nd gear. And at weekends, i generally drive 20 miles along 60 limit roads. Not done any motorway driving recently. Foxtrot Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 Same as Joe Blunt my 1.6HDi is doing really well on average 50-54 mpg and that is around the City. But i have done far less miles. Lovely car and pleased to bits.... Quote
