i tried starting my c5 which has a lazy battery and did not start, i checked battery terminals disconnected then reconnected, then as i went to start engine all the usual lights come on but there is nothing from engine as if the immobiliser has kicked in, i have tried everything to innactivate this i.e turn keys in lock and sit for 2 mins but to no avail. There is plenty power in the battery, i have reset all the computer time and day function and when i turn over key there is nothing other than the dash lighting up can anyone please help me, is there a standard way to reset the immobiliser or could the fault lie elsewhere. Also it states on dash that it is in economy mode, could the starter motor be faulted any help would be appreciated

I had a similar problem with my 1.6HDi

It was the BSI unit that had failed

Cost of a new one supplied/fitted/programmed £430.13!!

Good luck!

I had the immobilizer kicking in recently when I had a loose connection on the battery. locking/unlocking the car using the remote fixed the problem (there's a small delay between reconnecting the battery and the car accepting the remote)
