barnyg Posted April 15, 2006 Posted April 15, 2006 I am about to become the owner of a 2 month old C4 VTR+ 5 door with 1,000 miles on the clock.I am getting rid of my Megane Sports tourer as I have had enough having owned it 8 months & been back to the dealer 6 times.Probably taking a risk with another French car but having had 2 ZX's in the past I feel I am 'coming home' lol.The car is sort of a HP repo - the garage let it go before the finance came thru (or not) so I only paid £10,500, a bargain. If anyone is interested ##################### have a number of 2.0 VTR+ coupe's at £10995 - brand new. I would have had one but need 5 doors. Anyway please to meet y'all, I'm sure you'll all be as frendly and helpful as those fime people at the Megane owners club Quote
wozza Posted April 15, 2006 Posted April 15, 2006 Were all friendly here. Couple things that will mention. A lot of them suffer form a rattle from the passenger door. And bad rear brake squeal which were waiting on a fix for. Other than that you get a nice riding good handling great looking hatch thats very well equipped for the cash. Quote

Fizzo17 Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 Hi Barnyg and welcome. I am new here myself, but have found it fascenating to read what everyone has to say. I bought my c4 on the deal you mentioned. £10995 + £400 for pealescent paint. I actually wanted the glass roof on mine ,but this deal was too good to miss. I am really happy with the car. A few niggles, but nothing too serious, and it just gets better and better the more I drive it. The brakes are FANTASTIC!! I came to an island the other day a bit too fast and it had just rained and the road was greasy. I thought I would struggle to stop, but it was no problem at all! Didn't even call in the ABS. I may be biased but I think you have bought a lovely car and I hope you enjoy driving it. Quote
wozza Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 The brakes on these things are rather good. One of the things a few people didnt like all you have to do is tap them and the car wants to stand on its nose. But you soon get used to having to be very very gentle on them. And they stop you bloody quick in an emergency as i found out when some guy decided he would come straight out of the side street infront of me while i was only a few feet away. Quote
Foxtrot Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 Welcome to the C4 - having had a Xantia and 2 Picasso's and my better half has a C3 I can say that I am realy pleased with the C4 1.6 Diesel that I have had from new since last August. Its a good looking car and the economy has stayed constant 54mpg and that is in the city. 3 recalls but whatever - most cars get them these days. Enjoy     Quote
ham's c4vts Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 welcome to the club, mine went to the garage today to have a towbar fitted and was loaned a c4 1.6 hdi sx(92 bhp. i quite liked it, bit softer than mine, but low down big dollop of torque was impressive, i bet the 2.0 hdi is very good. this one had only done 750 miles so when run in should be even better and trip said 54.7 mpg average! Quote
wozza Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 the 2.0 with a decent map on it gives a similar bhp output to the 180bhp vts but the torque is another story. Think with a remap though the VTS is pushing 190-195bhp. Quote
