My nearly new C3 Pluriel is fitted with the standard radio/CD unit, but not with the optional dashboard CD changer. I've just bought the correct "Citroen" (actually Blaupunkt) in-dash 5-CD changer on eBay, but would appreciate some advice on fitting it.

Where is the cheapest place to buy the connecting cable to the head unit?

Will I need to have the whole sound system re-coded by a Citroen dealer (it implies as much on the CD-changer box!)?

Will I need to disconnect the head unit in order to plug the cable in (this presumably would definitely require a re-coding of the system afterwards)?

Is there anyting else that I need to know to get the job done?

Any help is most welcome.

Not sure without getting a look at it but id imagine its only 1 or 2 wires that need plugging in then a case of fitting the unit in you should just have to pull your current headunit out plug te cables in and plug it back in not a hard job but i cant tell you exactly what needs to be done as i have not had a look at one.

Don't install a CD changer in a Pluriel! When we had one, the cd player would not hold memory due to the fact water may go into the radio. I was told that a cd changer would be a no no.

Let me know what you think.

My C3 had a 5 disc changer, if you use it under the stock headunit in that useless cubby hole then the small connecting cable, which should have been supplied with the changer!! as they are expensive from Citroen (isn't everything? - lol  ), plugs straight into the back of the radio/CD, but you will have to take to Citroen to 'mate it to the car', costs from zero to £30.
