Hi there,

 

Just thought I'd ask here if anybody knows anyone with a second hand set of Citroen C4 VTS Alloy for sale. I'm not really willing to fork out for Citroen prices for what are 17"..

 

Decided to go for the VTS rims after I got a 2inch split in my 18"s!

 

Here is a pic of my C4 (now without alloys and with VTS spoiler..)

You had a look on ebay?

 

Not sure how easily they will be to find though most people like the VTR+ VTS alloys. But ebay is about the best place to try.

Cheers for the quick reply. Yeah I'm on ebay daily attempting to find them but no luck so far. The only time I saw them was when my alloys weren't broken!

 

So has anybody modded their C4 yet on here? I'd be interested in hearing about any big or small mods!

Only thing i have done to mine is stereo and VTS spoiler.

 

Couple of the guys have put induction kits on and one of the guys on the xsara forum had his VTS on 40mm springs.

 

Thats about it lol. Theres no decent bodykits for the C4 they all look awful. Plus the car is too new to have various things out for at the moment. Even citroens own dressup kit looks awful.

If I may ask how did you fit the stereo? I had a special adaptor made up for mine so I could fit an aftermarket stereo :D

 

I know Jon on the Xsara forums...I love the look of his C4 on a 40mm drop...I'm probably gonna drop mine lower when I get the chance as its just not low enough at the moment!

 

There are a few ok bits and pieces bodykit wise...but you have to look HARD !! I'll try and post some links when I get the chance as I've saved them all as I've browsed the net looking for C4 stuff!

Some of the lester stuff is ok. But it looks too bolted on. I want soemthing thats gonna fit the lines of the car without looking like its cheap tat bolted on. Thats hard to find lol.

 

Just want some relatively simple skirts for it.

 

Just a BMW iso adaptor then case of changing a couple wires around. And theres a guide to how i fitted the amps to my C4 in the ICE section.

Is your VTS Spoiler a proper one or an after market???

 

if you dont mind me asking, have you declared it and what did your insurance company say about it??? Did they increse your premium???

Its the proper one.

 

My insurance company didnt say anything insurance was free withthe car and they didnt care about the spoiler but thats about all im allowed to do to it. I asked about engine mods and that was a no no.

I have looked all over for the VTS wheels and nowhere seems to have them...Citroen want almost 700 notes for them, the words sod that spring to mind

See where the extra £1000 or whatever it is for the VTR+ comes in wheels, climate control, few other subtle changes exterior wise wing mirror housing etc. its worth it for that.

lol yeah but at the time of purchase the VTS was a LOT more expensive, and with the C4 being my first car, insurance was v.v.expensive!

 

I have the proper VTS spoiler as well..managed to nip in on an empty auction on ebay and got one for £170 - they are £440 from Citroen!

 

Well I will keep looking for the wheels :)

£550 they told me from citroen.

 

And the VTR+ comes with most of the extras the VTS has including the wheels etc and isnt much more expensive over the VTR/VT ones is what i said the VTS is a bit more lol.

I remember a few months back there was a mint set of C4 VTS alloys on ebay but I didn't need them at the time due to my alloys were intact! They were priced at only £200, and didn't even sell. But by the time I'd contacted the seller after my alloys were damaged it was too late and they had been sold!

What alloys did you have on before for them to get damaged so easily? If there were cheap 18" wheels i can understand but if there fairly good id be getting in touch witht he company that made them.

 

a small drop and a stiffer ride should not cause the alloys to break!

They were BOSS XTR alloys which I had bought in mint condition second hand. I think it was a combination of a 30 drop, stiffer ride and 215/35 tyres. I will never get 215/35 tyres again...they are far too a bumpy ride, and the C4 arches can cope with a far bigger tyre, even on 18's.

Cheers for the link but I'm already looking at these...how much are they from Citroen again?

 

I guess I could always buy these two and save some money - and get the other two from Citroen? :D

They are £270 a piece apparantly...I am going to have a massive bitching session at the garage when I go next and see if they want a happy customer and give me a free set :D

I have indeed, I would go to a wheel shop and buy a nice set from there but if you stick with manufacturers parts then you dont have to declare them to the insurance company and send the premium up even higher...

Well I was with Liverpool Victoria last year and they didn't mind me having 18's on my C4. Didn't charge me a penny extra. Mind you saying that I dont think they would have paid out for them if they were nicked...

I've currently got a bid on ebay for one-only VTS alloy - one of mine is badly scuffed, nay kerbed. Only had my 12-month-old diesel VTS for a month and I've not come across these rigid tyre valves that look a bit like a spark plug before. Can they be bought separately? The reason I ask is that the wheel I'm hoping to buy doesn't look like it's got one from the small photo. If I can get another, it'll mean I can refurb the other wheel at my leisure and then have 5 alloys.
