lee_marshuk Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 Finally! Had a call from my Citroen Dealership today to tell me there was a bulletin out for the squealing brake issue! Apparently they have a whole list of part codes to order, which include new calipers and discs......... Quote
wozza Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 Thats it i am so in there tomorrow! Car needs some other bits sorting anyways so might as well book a curtesy car for a few days lol. Quote
lee_marshuk Posted April 27, 2006 Author Posted April 27, 2006 Too right! Sounds like a plan mate, see if you can book out the turbo charged C1 for a thrash :D Quote
wozza Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 I would love to take one of those little C1's for a bit of a thrash look like they could be such good fun. Quote
barns Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 The car i went for a test drive in had a dame brake squeal, and only drove a couple of miles but that noise would have done me head in constantly.Good to see they are addressing problem Hope they dont forget to sort mine out before delivery ! Quote
Welshguy Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 Cheers for the heads up about this - my brakes are starting to squeek, althoughly admittably it isn't that bad. I gave Citroen a ring this morning and have the car booked in, and they are going to take a look at my gearbox too. I have a problem with it - almost everytime (particularly when cold as well) I put the car into netrual or change gear I can hear a noise, like the gearbox is shaking on its mountings or something like that...very disturbing! So hopefully that will be sorted and I get free brakes thrown in  Funnily enough (spooky!) they said there were all out of C2's, and offered me either a C1 or a Berlingo Multispace...the "disabled" car as they described it. I took the C1 :D Now all I have to do is pray its the Turbo model! :D Quote
Stuey Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Welshguy, mine has that same rattle but mine does it between 3 and 4th gear just when you prod the throttle....anyone else having this?? Quote
wozza Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 I have a rattle occasionally when I press the gas. I suppose best way to describe the sound would be like the bell you put on a cats collar. Quote
Stuey Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 you have a very strange cat bell my friend! :D ! it is a very strange noise though Quote
lee_marshuk Posted April 30, 2006 Author Posted April 30, 2006 Oh! I have that as well! Thought it was an oddity with my car. Took it back to my dealer and pulled my usual line ("I've just spend a ridiculous amount of money on a top model car with you so you can sort it out pronto"). If its the same noise as I've got, try something... If you get into the passenger side, and put your hands round the back of the dash - by this I mean if you go to the left hand side of the console, all the way back under the glove box, right to where the plastic ends, and apply pressure on it, can you replicate it? (Hope that makes sense!!!) Well - that's what was causing mine apparently, something was loose round there....... Quote
Stuey Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 A bit of thread necromancy!! I had the new rear brake assembly fitted yesterday and HUZZZZZAH it doesnt sqeak anymore :D I did some strange reversing manouveres last night to check and all seems coolio and they fixed all the other stuff such as trim falling off and bizzare paint clouding. only thing is that I need new front pads ;) mine are sooo weak compeared to the ones on the courtesy car I had (and I never thought I would say it but I am warming to diesel :) ) Quote
Z3M Roadster Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 Just had my discs/calipers/pads replaced for the second time, a 1000miles later and they are squeaking again Quote
c14vts Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 mine came back today with shiney new calipers and pads {thanx wozza} No new discs though They ... {as in the dealer} still say that parking sensor display is for front sensors only { twice now they said that} so im off up there tommoz to wave the handbook in front of them open on page 69/70 and say call yourself citroen techs , more like a bunch of fuckin monkeys ;) Quote
C4VTS Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 They ... {as in the dealer} still say that parking sensor display is for front sensors only { twice now they said that} so im off up there tommoz to wave the handbook in front of them open on page 69/70 and say call yourself citroen techs , more like a bunch of fuckin monkeys ;) While you are there, ask them about the door mirrors that are supposed to tilt when you select reverse. :D Quote
lee_marshuk Posted January 28, 2007 Author Posted January 28, 2007 Yep - it's linked to your wing mirror control unit. When in reverse, if you have the slidey switch set to left (as if you were going to tilt your passenger wing mirror), it adjusts to show the kerb. Similarly for the right. Quote
Rich_Eason Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 Does it remember the posistion of the mirror on taking the car out reverse? Quote
lee_marshuk Posted January 29, 2007 Author Posted January 29, 2007 Indeedy it does...works quite nicely for those awkward sized/shaped curbs. Quote
Rich_Eason Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 I tried it tonight and it dont work  Quote
wozza Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 Thought you had to leave it set in the middle? Dont have it on my car but it should be part of the VTS. Quote
Rich_Eason Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 Tried it both left right and in the middle, it remembered the posistion well as it didnt move  Quote
ham's c4vts Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 No mine doesnt do it either, just tried what you said Rich, perhaps its only on the exclusive? Quote
Rich_Eason Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 Either that or its another trip back to our friends The Dealers to get it enabled, I'm sure I read it somwhere in the manual or brochure. Ham, you mentioned somewhere (cant be bothered to look for it...apologies) that the caps to the headlight washers need to be colour coded after replacement. I need one of mine replacing does that colour "panel" not unclip off and on to the new one? It just seems mad that you have to go through the process/hassle of getting it colour coded just for two 50mmx30mm bits of plastic...  I dont think I want to drive around with one red and one black.... :( Edit - My brakes are now starting to squeek going forward as well as reverse.... Quote
ham's c4vts Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 yes they do unclip, the didnt spray them first, so im waiting for them to sray some they have ordered in for me , then fit them shortly. And yes it does look like another trip to dealer if it does require mirrors to tilt down in reverse, let me know if you find owt, ta Quote
C4VTS Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 In this thread I mentioned about the rear mirrors and reverse. It's also interesting that since that thread I did eventually get my visual reverse enabled despite being told it's not possible. I am sure the reversing door mirror tilt should also be working, or maybe it is just on the exclusive, but is surely another one of those items that could easily be enabled. The dealers seem to be reluctant to even try these things! It reminds me of when I had my Audi A4, and the dealer told me it was not possible to disable the sound from the alarm when it's set from the key. I ended up doing it myself with VAG-COM software from the internet, and an OBD interface cable from China. :D Quote
