eddyneill Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 Purchased a lexia 3 on e bay for £ 65 , are they worth the money. Next question where do I plug it in on a 59 plate C5 VTR+ NAV tourer. I checked in the glove box by the fuses but cant find any connection. Can anyone point me in the right direction. Quote
qman3428 Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 Lift up the rubber bung at the front of the centre arm rest and as Parkesie says you will find it there. Lexia requires windows XP to install but I have just used a freeware program called VMWare which allows me to install XP as a program in Vista, you need the XP disk (should be OK in windows 7 as well but not windows 8). This is an emulator and convinces the software everything is OK. It then installs in Vista, change the properties of the shortcut to run in XP mode (right click properties advanced). Mine works very well but tries to go online, ensure that it cant by the firewall and disconnect the internet when using it. Quote
eddyneill Posted March 11, 2013 Author Posted March 11, 2013 Thanks for that qman. My supplier reckons he has quite a few customers running on vista. Just in case can you give me more details on the vmware.Checked the website and there are dozens of different downloads. Which one did you use and did you have any problems getting the lexia up and running. Quote
eddyneill Posted March 11, 2013 Author Posted March 11, 2013 In the centre arm restThanks for that Parkesie found it no problem. Are you using a lexia I'm interested to know how people rate them. Quote
Guest Parkesie Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 Not using lexia I have a universal code reader for engine faults will eventually upgrade to a more comprehensive reader but for most things I'm sorted. Quote
