Welshguy Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 As I've been saying in different threads, the car is going into Citroen today to get the following looked at: • Driver Airbag Re-call • Squeaky Brakes, particularly when reversing • Grating & Rocking noises in Gearbox when clutch is down and when the accelerator is tapped. • Grating noise from Engine when under acceleration at low speeds • Rattle in Passenger Door I've printed off the above list and I'm going to give it to them - I figure they then have no excuse and can't say I didn't ask them to look at "x" etc. They have planned to have the car for 4 days...so in the mean time I get a C1...will report in this thread later today about my impressions of the C1, and hopefully then in a few days...the standards of Citroen dealership work! Quote
Welshguy Posted May 16, 2006 Author Posted May 16, 2006 UPDATE: Handed the C4 over to Citroen with a written list of the car's problems yesterday. They looked through the list, and the only problem that they couldn't fix is the sqeaky brakes - apparently it is they are aware of it as they stated before, but Citroen have not yet told them what parts to order/use. I told them I wanted the gearbox problem investigated and fixed before I have the car back as its driving me mad. Will see what the car is like Thursday!Fair do's I have to be honest Citroen have been as good as gold when it comes to serving/warrenty work. As for the C1...They have given me the 1.4Diesel 'Vibe' - its a funky lil car..very basic though (no rev counter for example!)...quite nippy too...although the body roll going round sharp corners is horrible! Quote
stu Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 Mines going in on monday for the airbag recall but I want them to sort the brakes out too – I don't hold out much hope for them sorting this one though. Also got a problem with the clutch where it loses power & over-revs occasionally when accelerating. Not looking forward to it because at the last service I thought the dealer was overpriced, unco-operative and also the car came back uncleaned – not a major gripe but the least they could do is spend 5 minutes giving the car a once over with a hose especially after charging me an extortionate amount of money for topping up the oil, changing the washer fluid and telling me that the car was okay! Quote
Welshguy Posted May 16, 2006 Author Posted May 16, 2006 lol NEVER EVER let a dealership clean your clean Stu. They will employ a couple of 15 year olds with Grubby sponges full of grit to scrape across your car using a wash solution of spit and fairy liquid. Not good! < RANT >Speaking of which, I have to take my friend's polisher to the car on the weekend (hopefully) - on Sunday I was parked up outside a kebab shop waiting for the girlfriend to grab some food, and 3 blokes walked past with one deciding to kick my car, along with every other car in the road. I couldn't believe it - I was sitting in the car! ;) Couldn't go mental though...3v1! No dent thankfully but lil stratches....GRRR...CHAV'S!< / RANT > Quote
stu Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 Haha – I had my car for 4 weeks before a friend drove his 4x4 into the side of mine while parked  It was the worst feeling in the world, hearing the crunch outside the house and just knowing my pride & joy had been dented... I could barely look. Had to have a whole new side and rear panel fitted, and it's just not the same anymore!!! (if you know what I mean) Quote

Welshguy Posted May 18, 2006 Author Posted May 18, 2006 Had a phone call from Citroen yesterday - the car was ready to pick up a day early! OUt of all the points listed above, they couldn't fix the brakes due to them waiting for Citroen to tell them what parts they need. They also couldn't find the rattle in the passenger door (I only hear it occassionally..just thought I'd try and get Citroen to find it! ). They did however fix all the other problems - the gearbox and engine problems were related to a dodgy engine mount - they fixed it and everything purrs now...no more grating! :) Quote
