ianf Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 I'm considering buying a 2003 2.0 ltr diesel C5 but have heard that they or some are/have been prone to clutch failure. Can anyone advise please ? Ianf Quote
taxiraby Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 I've got a 2001 C5 2ltr HDI. It's used as a taxi. I think the clutch is quite strong, as i got stuck in 5th (of all the gears to get stuck in !), but managed to drive a couple of miles, which included roundabouts and junctions, to get to the garage. Obviously, i cooked the clutch, but it still kept working for a few thousand miles after that incident. The cause of the lack of gear selection was the breakage of the gear change linkage cables by the way ! cheers, Dave R. Quote
