hertsnminds Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 Just put my 3rd air freshener in today. So far I have tried Ylang Bambou, Menthe Musc and just put in Ambre Santal. Didn't like the Menthe Musc but the Ylang Bambou was nice enough. If someone doesn't know what to get you for a birthday or Christmas pressie the refills are a good idea for the list. wozza Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 I actually liked the vanilla one. Ran out of air freshners though may have to go down the garage and get some more on friday. But there not exactly cheap are they? Was not a fan of the Menthe musc either the Ylang bambou was quite nice though. Quote
Mat Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 In my opinion they are nothing but an expensive cheap gimic. Quote
lab44 Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 Anyone know how much they are to buy from a citroen dealer. Theres a few going cheap on ebay at the moment - were loads of them a few weeks back but dont seem as many now. Personally I think they are a really good idea - they seem to last a long time and diffuse the smell nicely around the car - much better than having some dangly thing hanging from your windscreen that stinks the car out for 5 minutes then dies. ham's c4vts Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 to tell the truth i smelt on i an hdi i was loaned an didnt like it.ive not even put mine in as i like the new car smell at the min. Quote
hertsnminds Posted May 25, 2006 Author Posted May 25, 2006 Yes they are expensive about £9 for a pack of 2. They can last anything from 1 to 3 months depending on how often you use them. I find they are good for masking smelly exhaust fumes, rape seed pollen and cow bottom smells. Once my cartridges seem to have finished my partner sticks them in the air vents of her Fiesta. At the moment they seem to be like ink cartridges were when the bubble jet printers first came out. I am sure someone will find a way to refill used cartridges. There must be a way to replace the smell soaked sponge in the middle and if someone can do that for about £2 a go they would be on to a winner. IanBlack 55 VTR+ Quote

I got 7 assorted from an ebay seller for under £20, which strikes me as at least a reasonable price, although I'm not so sure about the "Essence de Camel Driver's Jockstrap", or maybe that's how I make the car smell once the cartridge has run out!
