billynibbles Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 My query relates to climate control. Is there any way just to have outside air blown into the car without it being heated or cooled? The nearest I can seem to get is to kill the fan speed back to zero but then there's no throughput when standing still. The only way I can see that would allow you to blow ambient temperature air into the car, is to set the climate control to whatever the outside temperature is, so that neither heating nor air/con is used. Is this the only way, apart from opening a window? Quote
wozza Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 Never seen a modern car you can do that on yet. Apart from using the window. Kinda defeats the object of climate control though. Dont think it will let you shut it off and just open the vents up to the outside cant see a way of doing it anyways. Quote
hertsnminds Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 With the climate control in manual mode (A/C off) you only have control over fan speed and which vents the air is blown out of. If you change the temp settings in this mode doesn't this act just like a hot/cold control in a non climate control car, that is pass the air over part of the engine cooling system to heat it or not to keep it the same as the outside air? wozza Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 It does, but I dont think thats what he wanted to do judging by the post think he just wants to be able to open the vent and allow air in straight from outside. Quote
hertsnminds Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 Then you will have to remove the pollen filter as all air entering the car passes through that first. If you want dirty air at outside temperatures you have to open the windows. IanBlack 55 VTR+ Quote
