I own a Pluriel 1.4 HDI and have finally got the perfect modern classic. well done Citroen. However when you are away from home with the roof removed, I find that not having the roof bars on board is a problem. Has anyone came across or devised a way of spliting the roof bars so they car be stored in the boot or back seat. If I could carry the bars, then true perfection would be reached.

If it is just you in the car I think they will fit in with the rears seats folded and the front passenger seat reclined. You have to use all of the space from the passenger footwell to the rear of the car.

Otherwise you will have to get your saw out and find some way of keeping yet another set of rubber seals water tight. You would also have to make sure the track for the roof remained aligned every time you put the bars back together. It can probably be done but won't be cheap.

I would suggest that there is 100% no way you can cut the roof bars and expect them to fit let alone work - not a chance in my opinion. If you are traveling away from home you just have to accept that you can only have the roof fully back, theres little difference with all the windows down anyway and should it rain its very quick to put it back up.

By the way how many mpg are you getting from your diesel. I get around 38-40 from my 1.4 petrol. I wish they would put the new 1.6 diesel engine in with a normal g'box or even the 1.6 petrol with a normal g'box.

I still love the Pluriel after a year.

Have Fun
