jryan Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 Hi I have just bought a 05 plate C4 1.6 VTR. Is there any way to enable auto lockig of the doors and boot when the car starts moving(eg over 5mph)??? Also does any one know what features can be enables by the dealer that are switched of etc??? Thanks Quote
Mike5483 Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 To enable auto-locking, push and hold the lock button on the dashboard until the display shows that it has been enabled. Not sure about what else can be switched on, the visual display for the rear sensors can be if they aren't already. Quote
jryan Posted July 4, 2006 Author Posted July 4, 2006 Thanks! I have upgraded from a C3 Exclusive and it can be a nightmare getting some things to work( ie the auto lights on the C3etc!) Another thing, i am interested to know if you can add the center armrest from the VTS to the VTR??? Does anyone know if this would be possible??? Quote
Mike5483 Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 Thats, odd, Ive already got that in mine, although mine is a VTR+. It should be easily possible, although I wouldnt have a clue how much work was involved. Quote
wozza Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 The armwrest came in VTR+ / VTS models as standard. And yes you can buy them from citroen in the accessories section for the C4. Quote
jryan Posted July 4, 2006 Author Posted July 4, 2006 Cool!! Are they easy to fit?? Can I also install the cd changer?? Will Citroen charge an arm and a leg to get tio installed? Quote
Mat Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 Are they easy to fit?? Can I also install the cd changer?? Will Citroen charge an arm and a leg to get tio installed? If they do it should be called an 'arm and a leg' rest :P Quote
Rich_Eason Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 I find the extendable centre arm rest (especially in the hotter weather when plastic expands) a bit annoying as it has a tendancy to creap forward from the retracted posistion and get in the way of changing gear. I have found that it creaps forward when... Going down hill on a bumpy road Generally want to stop or use the brakes, Approaching roundabouts and junctions Drop "down" off motorway slip roads, Go "down" onto Motorways off slip road Go down hill breaking...(this is when it really flies forward and skips CD's). Go down hill, ...etc etc You tend to look a bit "weird" when pulling up to a juntion next to someone trying to push the extended arm rest back with your left elbow...you basically look like you are scratching you left ear with your shoulder! Currently thinking about making some way of retaining the extendable rest but still allow it to be used.... Quote
wozza Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 not had that problem with mine in fact its quite stiff to move easily also find it doesnt bother my gear changing just getting to the handbrake but not that bad. Its only really there for when your cruising on the motorway anyways so i wouldnt really fancy reaching for the handbrake at 70+mph lol. And Mats a fool :-P but hey it got a laugh out of me well kind of a laugh more a oh god! But to answer the question does not look too hard to fit but i think the rest along is around £100 and then the cd change is a few hundred more unless you can find someone selling theres which is rather doubtful currently. Guest CE05LDB Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 jryan How old was your C3 Exclusive? I got a 05 1.6i 16v Exclusive Sensodrive. I am really happy with it. I find the Auto lights works well on my car. Mind you Citroen never put in the handbook how to activate or deactive this function so I bet there is alot of C3 Exclusive and SX (SX Auto 2002 - 2004) don't know they have Auto lights. Now the Auto Wipers can be a pain some times as they don't kick in when they should do. Lee Quote
wozza Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 Welcome back to the forums Lee that is if your back. Hows your C3 doing now? And hows your brothers he still having problems? Auto wipers on the C4 are actually rather good but they do like to stop at occasions i found usually when you brake to a stop they also stop so at traffic lights etc. Quote
Mike5483 Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 There is often CD changers come up on Ebay, cause its the same as the ones Peugeot use as well. Theres quite a few at the mo... just search Peugeot changer. Here are a couple. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PEUGEOT-BLAUPUNKT-5-...1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PEUGEOT-307-5-DISC-I...1QQcmdZViewItem Dont know what leads you'd need, your dealer should be able to help with this. Stuey Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 thats dangerously cheap...might have to consider that as I have paid my insurance for the next couple of months so I have an extra £120 a month... Quote
Guest CE05LDB Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Still using my brothers PC Wozza. I am getting a laptop by next week as im fed up with being with out one now. I m still collecting my Citroen models. I got 5 C4s now. There is 2 more to get and I have all the C4s avalible then A Yellow one VTS and a Black 5 Dr Exclusive. I got a C6 on its way aswell. My dealer have invited me up to an open night for the C6 when it arrives. Quote
wozza Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 C6 is a bloody lovely looking car would gladly drive one of those myself. If it were not for that £30k price tag. but give it a few years sure a couple will pop up on the net for next to nothing. Glad to see you will be back soon though mate. Wish i could have got a yellow VTS after seein dave&traces i wanted a yellow vts. Quote
Guest CE05LDB Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 This C4 yellow coupe model im getting costs more than the red and silver ones I got as Norev only made a 1,000. I got 2 ltd edition C2 models aswell. I like collecting my models. My Dealer had a quite few C4s on the forecourt when I was up there today. One of the Service staff said to me he thought the price of the C6 was steep. I think the C6 my dealer has will be staying there because its big and it wouldn't be so good in South Wales Valleys as the streets are narrow I wouldn't fancy trying to park in it either. Wonder how much insurance is? If I was older and had money I would either like the C4 2.0i 16v Auto Exclusive or the C5 3.0i V6 Auto Exclusive SE. The C6 is only avalible in Autobox Wozza so I doubt you would like it. Both Diesel and petrol models can do a top speed of 143mph where the C5 3.0i V6 can do 155mph. Quote
dave&trace Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 we got our c4 scott yellow norev model from ebay it came from europe Quote
wozza Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 Yellow VtS looks lovely. And the C6 is not the kind of car you wanna throw around its a cruiser something comfortable to drive in on the motorway would gladly have an auto in something like that. Quote
pork_pie Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 Be interesting to see what Cashback deals Citroen UK offers on these cars. I expect they have to really push the boat out to flog these cars. SOmething even more extraordinary than a £4k price slash off a Picasso. I do like the C6 - its a throwback to the old CXs 20-25 years ago. As you know the luxury car market don't welcome the French and this car is risky for the company and prospective owners. Furthermore in the high priced car market, the demand for big 5 door hatchbacks (excluding 4x4's and MPVs) is non existent in my opinion. . Renault (Rubbish) rubbish saw that too with that damn awful Vel Satis. What the hell are Fiat thinking of with that Croma is anyones guess. Vauxhall are still flogging their Signum to the masses. People expect a boot to stick out but there are exceptions - VW with its Phateon and Pug with their 607. Back to the C6 - Who would pay £38k for a top spec double chevron on their bonnet? I would pay 12 k for a 2 year old example though!.If I see one on the roads, I'll pinch myself Quote
Stuey Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 SOmething even more extraordinary than a £4k price slash off a Picasso. the reason the deals are so good is because they will be trying to get rid of all the stock they have as the facelift ones will be out in a few months. 4K off is just the start of the offers I reckon, they will be selling them at near enough cost to get rid. If you buy one then you may have an old shape but it will be range topping probably with all the extras boxes ticked for the same price as a new shape basic model...Ford did it with the old shape focus...A guy I work with bought a Ghia X which is the top spec with pretty much every extra you can have such as leather seats and all the usual funky stuff for about £12500. Its worth almost that much now nearly 2 years later... Quote
