AlanFC Posted May 25, 2003 Posted May 25, 2003 Is it just me or does the continual low frequency rattle of the two plastic buttons protruding from the speedo get on your twin peaks!!? If so, is there a cure? Regards, AlanFC Quote
itsmywifes Posted May 26, 2003 Posted May 26, 2003 Aaaah! I've never noticed this. But now you've pointed it out I'll be listening for it. Curse you Alan! Well over the 6,00 miles now. Yesterday 114 miles on the trip before the top fuel light extinguished. Getting better still. IMW Quote
Oliver Posted May 27, 2003 Posted May 27, 2003 When I first mentioned to my dealer mechanic about rattles and bumps in my C3 he said that there was a known problem with vibrating connections to the airbag in the steering column and that there was a 'fix' from Citroen which was fitting grommets to the cable holes inside the steering column. This was done to my car and no more vibration since. Could this be the source of the noise you are experiencing ? So far one problem fixed, still have the bangs and bumps from what I believe is the fuel pipes in the box section under the drivers seat and also starting to get noises from the front passenger seat belt vertical adjustment slot ( fortunately not as bad as the C3 courtesy car I was given when the dealer had mine in) Quote
Badlass Posted May 29, 2003 Posted May 29, 2003 I've got the steering wheel rattle too..........REALLY does my head in......the dealer also told me it was a known problem and will get it all fixed when some other parts I need arrive.....until then the CD player will have to stay extremely loud ;) Quote
nn Posted May 29, 2003 Posted May 29, 2003 I don't think my rattle comes from any of these places. The front bumper and the grill feel as though they would come off in my had if I gave them a gentle tug and I've starting to think this is the cause of my rattle. This will be added to the list when it goes in for the sensor thingy. Quote
AlanFC Posted May 29, 2003 Author Posted May 29, 2003 Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one, Oliver, I believe you are spot on with your diagnosis. Sellotaped the 2 plastic buttons from the speedo and the racket was still there. Thanks for that, another one for the delaer to sort out along with re-centreing the steering wheel after they fixed the non-cancelling indicator problem. Ho-hum, one step forward, two steps back! Pride in your work, thats all I'm asking! Regards, AlanFC Quote
AlanFC Posted May 30, 2005 Author Posted May 30, 2005 I was wondering........has anyone ever got this creaking/rattling/knocking noise form B-pillar area cured? I ask because after numerous trips to the dealer to sort it out, the fix seems to last for a few days and then its back again just as vigourously as before. It is really annoying!!! Quote
