wozza Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 Print out the problems on a bit of paper and give it to them next time. Got to say my dealers were pains in the arses at first but last time i complained on here they took there time with anything i got a call from them the day later saying to bring the car in and they sorted a bunch of other problems i told them about when i got there. Can say i got the car back with everything done and was cleaned inside and out so was rather impressed that time with the service. Name and shame the dealers better for people to know who to avoid as some of the dealers really are terrible i've heard of peoples cars going into some dealers and coming back with scratches and dents massively kerbed alloys etc. Quote
Z3M Roadster Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 The worst problem was with Colliers In Islington, they were carrying out repairs on the car, I came back to find the drivers seat had an oil stain and my nokia handsfree cradle was broken. I was told that it couldn't have been the technician who broke them and made the mark! After arguing with the pillock who runs the garage he replaced the seat cover and I managed to fix the carkit. Best of all they didn't even fix the problem. Without Prejudice - Just in case one of them is reading this Quote
Welshguy Posted August 2, 2006 Author Posted August 2, 2006 Had the car back on Monday - Citroen fitted spacers between the gear linkage and exhaust, and so far so good - there is still a small knocking noise between 1st and 2nd gear, but to be fair I have have the 1.4 so the engine and gearbox are going to be under a fair bit of strain in lower gears. No knocks in all the other gears though :) :) :) The engineer also heard my "grating" noise which I reported - he heard it on saturday (was supposed to have the spacers fitted on Friday but they ordered the wrong ones so the car was kept over the weekend) - they are reporting back to Citroen UK to see if it is a known problem. So the car will be going in again shortly. lol I was gonna ask the receptionist if I qualify for my own personal parking space outside the dealership, but I thought she might take it the wrong way :D Quote
jonfish Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 Hello. Just picked up C4 after some warranty work post 13 month/ 12500 mile service (diesel) including rear engine mount which was picked up by dealer and a few rattles. One knocking noise at rear I had put down to the exhaust or rear seat mechanism but they diagnosed rear shocks. When new these groaned loudly at < 5mph and the supplying dealer greased them which cured the noise so i thought that was the end of it. I have always been a bit disappointed with the ride quality compared with my old style focus. Now with new rear shock the ride has been virtually transformed :D. No more crashing in to pot holes or avoiding very poor road surfaces. If anyone else thinks the ride is very harsh I suggest you get the shocks looked at. They are a known issue if you look at some French C4 sites. Quote
kitsona Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 Pleased to read this comment about the suspension on some C4s. I was beginning to think it was just me complaining. My dealer and Citroen UK assured me that no one else was complaining about painful potholes and a banging suspension. Eventually, and after much negotiation and arguing, I have managed to have new shock absorbers fitted that do seem to have largely solved the rear suspension problems I've had. I wish I had managed to find that French C4 site. Quote
