C4VTS Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 My rear view mirror today, after work would not stay in position.I guess the plastic is too soft in this heat, as when the car interior cools down with the aircon on full blast, the mirror becomes more solid again. Is there a Citroen fix for the drooping rear view mirror? Quote
Stuey Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 I dought it highly mate to be honest...I guess its something you will have to live live for two weeks out of 52  Quote
C4VTS Posted July 17, 2006 Author Posted July 17, 2006 Ok, so what about owners in hot countries... Do they have to use blue tack and a bit of string all summer? Quote
wozza Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 Mines ok only time it moves is due to the excessive bass. Then again my entire windscreen moves with the bass put out from the sub. When its up loud all my mirrors become blury things. You get used to driving without them just means you have to look over your shoulder more lol. Quote
barnyg Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 My mirror is exactly the same - droops in the heat - a bit like me then lol! Quote
sammys hdi vts Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 Yeah I had this problem last summer after I bought the car. V annoying and quite dangerous when you go to look and you cant see! I went back to my dealer told them the problem and they replaced the whole rear view mirror for free. Now its fine, doesnt droop at all. Car read 42C when I got in it today so think you'll find it was a bad batch of mirrors. Go and see your dealer. Quote
Welshguy Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 I'm with Wozza...nothing like a bit of bass to make the rear view mirror go loopy! :D Quote
Ciaran2903 Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 I couldnt agree more! Even though i have the standard system, an analagy of mine is: "If the mirrors are not shaking, the music is not loud enough!" Quote
C4VTS Posted July 21, 2006 Author Posted July 21, 2006 My VTS is booked in for saturday to get the rear view mirror looked at. I wanted them to check the reverse gear warning display not working as well, but I was told they can't do two different faults. <_< Quote
Ciaran2903 Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 I wanted them to check the reverse gear warning display not working as well, but I was told they can't do two different faults. <_< what a load of ***oops***! I could understand if the main fault was with the engine, or electrics, but the mirror!! Surely they could have a look at the reverse warning display! Quote
wozza Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 Thats crap i took mine in the other day for the brakes to be done mentioned a couple other things went back 5 hours later they had done the brakes, new suspension bushes sorted my exhuast and taken it for a test drive and cleaned it inside and out. First time i can honestly say the service was amazing. Think they have been reading this forum as soon as i said no one had called me for my brake thing i got a call and all the complaints i had not one this time service was brilliant just a shame its not like that all the time. pork_pie Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 As you know the 2 blokes who work in the service dept are top fellas esp. Mad Derek. Hope the workmanship issue has been sorted out too. Practice makes perfect I guess when it comes to fixing these cars on a grand scale with the problem never to return lol. Glad Citroen Manc have done something to address the service issue. Could this mean a return to Citroen ownership for me...........hmmmmmm C4 Hdi with Auto .................... leather pack...................discounts.............. *starts to drool* Quote
wozza Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 Go on mate you know ya want too and im sure chris would sort you out with a good deal. Get rid of the 1 series you hardly drive it now anyways. Quote
C4VTS Posted July 22, 2006 Author Posted July 22, 2006 Had my car looked at today... The technician has to see the rear view mirror actually drooping in the heat, otherwise they cannot replace it. So looks like I have to live with it for the time being. Quote

You had less problems with your Renault (Rubbish) Clit in three years. Hows the Yankmobile search coming along? Quote
Stuey Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 mine developed a strange bang in the door, sounds like whatever it is is stuck on to the door in some way but held on by wires. I thought it might be the electric window motor as it stops when the windows are down. I told Citroen about it when it in was in having the XYJ recall. The service chap said that they had the door panels off and stuck whatever it was back on. two minutes down the road the bang started again.....but it only does it when it is hot...random Quote

Search is coming along nicely actually gimme a few months and there may be an 06 / 07 mustang gt sat on my drive if all goes well i may be going out to the states to buy a brand new one after importing etc it works out cheaper the cars half price buying it out there i can sort it for the SVA myself and shipping is not that expensive. So will have to see what happens but a fully loaded mustang would be rather nice. Quote
Stuey Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 do it mate you know you want to!! I will come with you to buy it. Quote
wozza Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 I really want to. Was my mums idea actually since she would be letting me borrow the money from her to save me getting loans etc. And she was curious how much they were in the states. Did some working out before i can get a new 07 GT premium for $27,000 which is around £14,000 After the extra costs its coming up for £20k but it would still cost more than that to get one here i know i have already looked can pick up the V6 for around that much but pft the whole point of an american car is to have a V8. Although the only thing is i wouldnt know if i should get the convertible or not most convertibles suck but well some cars can pull it off and thats one of them but id be worried about something like that with the amount of chavs around. Think i would have to have the bright red paint with the red leather though. lol. Quote
Stuey Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 you need to have a white one with blue stripes!! Roush stage 3 would do me nicely!! Quote
wozza Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 Red with white stripes would look nice the orange colour isnt bad either or white. Black with silver would look cool as well. Quote
