On Pulling Power last night (ITV1) they gave the C6 a good review but thought the £31,545 2.7HDi model would be worth close to £8,000 in 3 years time.

The Citroen UK website is not quoting Elect 3 final payments on the C6 at the moment but most cars would be worth half their cost new after 3 years.

Does this make the C6 one of the best used bargains ever?

I heard on top gear the other week when they had the C6 on that Citroen were going to guarantee to buy your C6 back off you after three years to prevent heavy depreciation. However they didnt say exactly how MUCH they were going to buy it back for lol.

If only pulling power are right though, might get one myself :D

Theres 1 at the manchester dealership i know porkie has been looking at it...(get rid of the sodding 1 series ya puff) And you need to come out for a drink again...

But seriously they are nice cars id have one and i hate diesels, and i hate autos so that uch say something.

Hey Wozza who you calling a puff yer flap! lol

You referring to the nice dark blue C6 in Citroen Manc.

Hmmmmmm yes that is VERY nice. Not actually sat in that car but its the first luxury F

I would be very interested to see the values of them in a few years time where I could perhaps trade like for like......

Hmmm diesel automatic. The editors at What Diesel Car must be having kittens.

As i was saying.....

Not actually sat in that car but its the first luxury French car has lit so many fires since............The CX was launched. That says a lot considering offerings from Pug and Rubbish but I guess I should make some exceptions with the 604 (now that was a car), and Ren 30.

The XM dont count - thats a 5hit tip on wheels as is the Ren 25, Safrane, Vel Shittis plus the 605. The 607 is rather understated. Ahh yes theres the Talbot Tagora!!!!! HYAHHYAHHYAH

Fair play to Citroen for launching this risky product - somethign about it exudes class.

Wozza mate, we will go for that drink soon.

Hopefully it shouldn't be long before I get my invite for the C6 open night at my dealership. Mind you don't know where they will put it as it won't fit in the showroom.

Just bumping this up.

Went and had a look at the blue one in manc today while i was there the interior is so nice. Although lot of the plastic materials are the exact same as used in the C4 even down to the pattern on them but thats no bad thing really. The leather seats look lovely though. As does most of the car.

But after looking at that one today i want those 18" wheels for my C4. Wonder how much they will be to buy aftermarket.... Thought they were only 17" wheels until i was next to the car but could tell they were bigger.

Car looks really good im just not as big a fan of it when you ee it straight on from the side and rear etc it looks stunning though and the white interior looks so nice.

Lets see what these are like in 3 years time to buy if there gonna be as cheap as whats said then i may be looking at one for myself.

Welcome rcandelori

I had some friends over from Oz last year and they commented how cheap cars were here in comparison. They couldn't believe my C5 estate was $35,000 and my C3 at the time was about $18,000.

Used to live in Melbourne in 1983/4, suppose it's all changed now though.

Wouldn't buy a C6 new, wait about for a 12 months old and save heaps.

What is this thing about Luxury car tax in Oz?

I believe the threshold is around 60,000 Australian Dollars.

Bearing in mind the C6 is more than this - how much extra are Australians fleeced?

With all the crap down under about a "fair go" there is this silly Luxury Car tax of about 35% applies to cars over $57,000 AUD, which pretty much means any luxury car that isn't locally built. Add to that a 10% Goods and Services Tax (aka VAT) and European Cars are very expensive, hence the popularity of cheap as chips Japanese and Korean cars.

For example, my C4 VTS Coupe 180, with full leather, panoramic sunroof and metallic paint (noir obsidien) came in at $44,500 in Australia. The same specs in the UK would be 17,500 pounds. Go figure.

The C5 doesn't attract luxury car tax in its standard top of the range trim at $55,990, but tick a few options and you hit luxury car tax territory. They start off at $39,990 in basic trim.

A Fiat Grande Punto (just released in Australia - big time lag down here), the 1.4 petrol starts off at $19,990 and its equipped with the poverty pack. The top of the range 1.9 diesel is $27,900. I believe they start off at around 9000 Euros in Europe, so the difference is huge.

So yeah, European cars are expensive in Australia.

thats harsh!!

What made you go for a C4 anyway mate?? they are peferctly viable over here as they are quite cheap and the VTS is quite powerfull compared to most cars, but you guys have cars like the Monaro and other V8 sexyness!!

The Monaro is just going out of production over here so they are boosting the engine up 6.2 litres and promising 500bhp for about £40,000 which over here is an absoloute bargain!!

I actually saw a C6 on the other side of a dual carriage way the other day! Sadly it did not look that good :(

Go look at one properly mate they look great from certain angles but the interior is lovely.

And is a shame about the Monaro such nice cars nice roomy car with a corvette engine under the bonnet. Cant go wrong with that. comfort and fun.

I saw one at the dealership before i saw it on the road. I thought that it was beautiful when i first saw it. Then when i saw it on the road, not so beautiful. But i only saw the front!

I chose the C4 because it was bloody awesome to look at and to drive and plus its different to all the plain-jane cars on the road over here.

Yes, I could have bought a gorgeous Monaro, but Holdens tend to have bad reliability and fall to pieces after about 3 years. And who can afford a V8 guzzling 20 Litres per 100km when petrol is $1.45/litre. Plus, you can only go 60km/h in most urban contexts in Sydney. The motorways are limited to 90km/h, sometimes 110km/h so all that horsepower would go to waste.
