I was just wondering if anyone knows how successful the c4 has done in the UK Since its launch? i never seem to see many on the roads....i proper want a black vts coupe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Greetings !

As there are not many C4's on the roads, I would guess they are not selling too many. :o

Too many people play safe these days, and just buy a Focus! which is really boring.

I think the C3 and Picasso are Citroên's best sellers, as I see a lot more of them.

yeah i see loads of focuses, dunno y the new ones are soooo boring -the front looks like a mondeo - what were they thinking?!!!

Might be a little boring to look at but excellent build quality and handling for the money.

Aha... So you do work for Ford? :o

I have had the new Focus as a rental car, and was not at all impressed with it.

The seats were very uncomfortable, and build quality no better than a C4.

If you fead the FFOC forum, there are plenty of people there with bits falling off their cars, and rattles, and faults.

They are becoming more comman place now,the avenue i live on has 4 c4's three 3 door and my 5 door. Some people just wont have a french motor, they dont like the french and wont have a french car, shame but thats the responce i got when i got mine, unless its for the school run because then you can get a picasso.

These must be the most popular people carrier i see shed loads of them and this must be down to purchase price because its a ugly looking motor,if i needed a p.c i'd be more tempted with a vauxhall.

New focus is no better built than a C4. Think your basing your views on your C4 only Z3, Fact is there are issues with every car. My mate had issues with his new 3 series and the dealer just can not fix a rattle. Like the Z3 as well they had numerous issues when they first came out but thats american build quality for you (If you didnt already know its not actually a german car) just has a german badge on the front.

Same with the merc A class they liked to tip over and have repeadtly been known to fall apart and rattle like crazy. Know someone with a brand new MK5 Golf GTI..So far his spoiler and brake lights have literally fallen off not come loose but actually found off the car.

Thanks I am aware the Z3 was built in Spartanburg, I wouldn't normally have bought one, but liked the idea of 321bhp and no traction control, albeit a little more sensible than the Westfield which it replaced. Considering the Z3 has done 65k there isn't a rattle or creak, which is quite incredible for US build quality.

You get a far quicker Westfield for the money over a Caterham and arguably better build quality as mine was a factory built car. After 10 months of ragging it around the novelty of the rollerskate wore off and I managed to sell for a healthy profit.

Once the Z3 gets off the mark it is a much quicker car (in a straight line) and you have the option to put the roof up if you happen to get caught in a shower, although mine only comes out on sunny days. Time to sell the Z3 in the next couple of months and find a suitable replacement.

What you looking for replacement wise? Its a shame the current BMW's just look fugly bring back the cool cars or cool things they used to do such as the Z1's doors. E30 M3 was such a great looking motor now they just seem to be a couple vents in the wings and and an M badge on the back thats it.

Really looking at mustangs seriously now or a C5 Corvette. Just i think i would rather the Mustang does not handle or go as well but its just cooler in a way and it'll still hit 60 in 5 seconds stock £2000 later its 3 second area to 60 not much gonna beat it in a straight line then.

I went for a drive with someone in a Z1 on Sunday http://s29.photobucket.com/albums/c298/ale...mgAnch=imgAnch4

The only Mustang I would consider would be a GT350 replica as I can't afford the real thing. Not a fan of the new ones, they might be quick but find them rather boring. Wouldn't mind a C5 corvette drop top but they are a massive car and I prefer something with a shorter wheelbase for track use.

Cars being considered are the V6 clio, Elise Sport 160, Exige and VX220. Perhaps an S2000 if I can find a decent one

Having owned a Focus for 70,000 miles (which I dont consider an unreasonable milage) and MANY serious mechanical failures (I had less serious failures in my first car - 135,000 mile 1987 Mini) with a very unsupportive dealer network I vowed never to purchase another Ford.

Still to this day I struggle to see how the Focus EVER obtained the TUV standard of quality, unless I just had a "Friday afternoon car"

From the day I bought the car I had nothing problems...

I did try the new Focus but didnt cut the mustard for me, to dull, to bland, too plasticy inside and space not as well used as the C4

Besides which everyone has a Focus and makes it difficult to find in large car parks!...Now the C4 on the other hand with its "where am I?" function.....

V6 Clio is alright not the best track toy though bit unforgiving. Earlier S2000's are as well. Both of which are have a spinning habit.

Elise, exige or VX is what id take the my mates owned 2 elise's and and exige brilliant cars.

Old mustangs i love then we had the 80's and 90's versions which arent so cool but i love the brand new model. How can you find these boring?

Best data I can find is for all of citroen sales (not just C4)

50,022 vehicles sold YTD to the end of June 06 in the UK, 4.03% market share, down from 52,494 at the same point last year.

Dont like the chrome either but there not standard.

And when it'll peg 60 in 5 seconds and 100 in 13 i would say its got enough go it's roughly same speed as an M3 or your Z3 not exactly a slow car. And upgrades give massive gains for not much money 460rwhp comes in for £2500 ish with bolt on supercharger. Or Can get to around 370bhp for a few hundred quid add that on top of the supercharger your looking nearly the 500bhp mark. In a car that weights 1500kg thats quite a bit of power.

Never driven one of the new Mustangs to can't really comment. I am not denying they have quite a reasonable amount of poke and yes you can throw more cash at them by sticking on a blower. I have seen a number of the last shape Cobra 'stangs with big bhp on ebay, just find them all particularly boring cars to look at with dull interiors and no doubt typically American handling.

See I love the retro look of the new one even the interior is similarly retro. And theres enough interior upgrade packs from ford to suit everyones taste.

Handling as stock isnt up to much after the handling pack is added there not that bad they become quite capable but they do need money spending on suspension thats a given. But just somethign about massive amounts of low end torque and a V8 sound I love. You just have to love the sound of an american V8 over an I6 or V6.

Posted
I would like another V8 and do prefer the sound of a V8. My father used to own a TVR Griffith 500 and then a 420 SEAC both of which sounded fantastic and certainly shifted but the scarcity of people who can maintain them and their relative unreliability means running costs are high which disuaded me from buying one. The bonus of the Straight 6 is that there is no smoother engine, unfortunately the BMW EVO engine isn't bullit proof and Vanos' are prone to wearing out, as is the case on mine, bmw are after over £3k for a new one, luckily the Specialist I use can do it for half of that, but still plenty of cash.

Think I would rather have the westfield personally and have it out on track as much as possible.

I am looking at buying a 7 for trsck use...there are a few track ready cars for sale on the Caterham website for a couple of grand. Not road legal though so I will have to buy a trailer to go with it...
