barns Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 most of the young apprentices i work with have some one else on the insurance with them, it seems to be benificial to have a female on the policy as this does tend to reduce premiums even further, but you have to ask serious questions before paying upto 3k because its a smart car but thats a stupid premium. what group is it ? wozza Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 Its only a group 6 car. It should not be that much to insure. met 18 yr olds who have there own policies on group 16+ cars as first cars and they got under £3000 quotes. He just needs to shop around and tell some companies that he can get it cheaper from such and such. Quote
lee_marshuk Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 I bought my car when I was 18, insurance with Direct Line was £1,200 fully comprehensive with guaranteed courtesy car, 14k miles business cover....all I had under my belt at that point was a Pass Plus, skid pan certificate and 1 years driving experience in my old car........ welshys90 Posted August 8, 2006 Author Posted August 8, 2006 for 4 years no claim, i think that is quite pricey maybe about right tho but it depends on the area u live in, mines is costing me £670, but ma mums on the insurance 2 Quote
col's_vtr+ Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 maybe i need to investigate in to the insurance abit more then, i called quite alot of people and tbh quite a few companies told me they couldnt insure me becasue i was under 25, but i eventually found a few. i live in a little village in co. durham virtually in the middle of no where so cant see the risk factor for location being high. i added my dad to the policy and it went up - quite a bit was about 200 quid i think, although dont know if adding a prison instructor to insurace makes it go up what with the related stress'es etc?
