AlexisV Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 I took my 1.6 VTR coupe to the garage late last week as it was misfiring and the engine management light had come on. They found an injector problem, fixed it and said they couldn't turn the light off though, so I probably needed a new ECU. Car felt better but still misfired. Today it was much worse and I opened the bonnet. First thing I saw was a hose lying on top of the engine, broken. Can anyone identify what it is? http://www.users.madasafish.com/~alexis/engine1.jpghttp://www.users.madasafish.com/~alexis/engine2.jpg Quote

bigandyd Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 Hi,Did you get this fixed with a new connector and did it make any difference to the running. The hose on my wife's car has snapped in the same place. Is this a design fault? Can anyone help? Thanks Andy Quote
iannez Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 dont know about the hose but you have the old type coil fitted which causes loads of running probs. the fault that is normally stored is multiple missfires. if you look at the coil on caculos car you will see the front of his coil is filled with resin. yours is plastic. get the new coil and i would think this will sort your problem.
