I have a 1.6hdi sx . When I just start a journey and travel at slow speeds approx 20 = 30 mph on a poor road surface I tend to get a knocking /clonk that seems to be from under the dash board on the passenger side near the corner post, or from the front suspension.

My local dealer 'Hidsons' have been very good and they have changed both the front suspension legs, they said they will still be quite happy to investigate this furthur when I take the car in for its 12500 mile service .

There are quite a few drivers on the French forum http://www.planete-citroen.com/forum/ (can be translated by using 'Google ) that seem to be getting this problem but nobody has been able to find what is causing the noise as yet Can anybody help sort this ?

I got a knocking noise on nearside front.

I suspect it may be the plastic liner in the nearside front wing is a bit loose ?

I can wait until first service, as not too annoying.

Mike I use Hidsons of Rainham The service department are very good .

Thanks c4vts for your posting but it is more of a hard knock / clatter than the sort of noise you would get from a plastic liner in the wing being loose. Its strange that it only does it at low speeds and tends to be worse when you have just started a journey. It sounds as if it is coming from under the dash where the corner post meets the windscreen. i was hoping for a little more feedback from other members regarding the noise but I am sure when it goes in for its service they will find the fault .
