VTRPlus Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 I was wondering if it was possible to buy or get fitted things like the Bluetooth option once you have the car if you didn't select the options at the time of purchase? The other thing I quite fancy is the folding mirrors, would it be possible to get on the VTRPlus? Still to receive my VTRPlus due to a cockup at the dealer, driving there C4 SX courtesy car atm  Hopefully I'll get it on Friday Quote
C4VTS Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 I would also like to know if the microphone and wiring is fitted in my VTS, even though I have no bluetooth from factory. I would also be interested in a bluetooth kit. Quote
Ciaran2903 Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 I just use my Tom Tom.I take it the citroen one intergrates with the stereo. Do you use the steering wheel controls to navigate your contacts, and is there a display that shows calls, contacts, etc. Quote
Z3M Roadster Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 It is probably cheaper to buy an aftermarket car kit and have it professionally fitted. I have a Nokia CARK-7W which has both the cradle to attach your phone to and the bluetooth wheel which affixes to the dash so you can connect a bluetooth phone. This has a stereo mute which mutes when the phone rings or when you press a key on the handset, or voice dial by tapping the wheel Quote
IanHur Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 I have the Parrot 3100 Bluetooth car kit in my VTR+ which when purchased with the ISO lead fits straight in between the radio, and original wiring loon, I fitted it myself, it is also voice activated. The kit with the ISO lead costs between £80 and £90 pound a lot cheaper than the Citroen kit and is compatible with any Bluetooth phone. http://www.parrot.biz/guide_chm/CK3X00/start.htm Quote
Ciaran2903 Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 Just worried about warranty issues, i dont really understand what does and what doesnt "play" with the warranty! If anything electrical went wrong, could they say that a aftermarket bluetooth kit was to blame, even if there was no eveidence to prove it? Quote
Z3M Roadster Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 I did wonder this same point Ciaran. I would have thought they wouldn't have a leg to stand on if they were trying to blame a professionally installed genuine Nokia or Parrot car kit on a separate electrical fault. None of the dealers I have taken my C4 to have commented on the kit and whether it has influenced the electrical faults my car has had, all of which have been repaired under warranty. Quote
NightFly Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 Thanks for the advice on the Nokia hands free kit, I will check it out once the car is delivered, and get one installed. I still can't believe they can't install the JBL system and the bluetooth kit. I guess a simple splitter connection won't do the trick  Decided against a panoramic roof, thought it might look odd with Sable Gold colour. I may be able to change the order if anybody can convince me that a panoramic roof is a good thing to have! Quote
Z3M Roadster Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 I'll take a photo if you like so you can see what it looks like. On a separate note, does anyone know if it is possible to retrofit a standard armrest, opposed to the one which houses the cd changer. If so how much does one cost, I should have specced it when I ordered the car, but didn't think about it at the time as it was company ordered. Quote
ham's c4vts Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 cant see a problem with retro fitting the armrest as the disc changer comes out easy and the armrestis held on with four screws, just a matter of getting the parts  Quote
wozza Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 The armwrests are the same the cd changer is just fitted into it if i remember correctly. Citroen sell them as one of there accessories. Quote
Rich_Eason Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 A Note With reference to the Citroen Bluetooth Kit Depending on the make of phone/type depends on the functionality of the system. Samsung D500 - you can make calls and receive calls through the kit but you have to use phone key pad, and speak through car mic. Start and end calls using phoneNo ability to scroll through phone book entries etc by steering wheel or dash control....just very very basic use. Motorola Pebl - Make/Receive Calls via steering wheel control, navigate phone book signal strength displayed battery condition displayed, full functionality of the Bluetooth kit. Unfortunatly these are the only two phones I have tried but have a marked comparison in the Bluetooth Kit function. This is obviously due to the way the phones are configured by the manufacture for Bluetooth Quote
wozza Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Anyone got a price list? Go into your local dealers mate prices seem to change between them. Some people were getting told the VTS spoilers were only £250 i was told it'd be £550 at my local place. So changes between them it seems quite drastically for some bits. Quote
Z3M Roadster Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 I keep looking on ebay for an armrest, but never seem to be any, not even an aftermarket one. Here is a photo of my carkit, The microphone is by the courtesy light with an aerial stuck to the inside of the windscreen at the top and the speaker is in the dash under the steering column. http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c298/alexlomas/C4/DSC00064.jpg Quote
NightFly Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Thanks for the photo, very helpful, much appreciated. Somebody told me about £50 speakers you can put on your sun visor or plug into the cigarette lighter, and they connect to your phone via bluetooth. Are they any good? Quote
wozza Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 Z3 M Something that may interest you mate got part number there etc so may be able to go see how much it would be. http://www.citroen.com/NR/exeres/CCEA0C08-...FF467B54F01.htm Quote
