Well where to begin...I met up with Ham last night to go to a local car club. We met at a picturesque lakeside car park (very romantic :D ). we made our way round to where the meet is, I was leading and the person on the gate had a good old nosey round the interior of mine, she was very impressed with the digital speedo and steering wheel, all going well so far. We then park next to each other and go for a wander round and have a look at the 600bhp Skyline and the supra with a backend full of speakers and subs.

When we get back to our cars there is a group of about 10-15 people round Hams car and no-one looking at mine :P

I cant believe how many subtle differences there are between the 2 of them when they are parked next to each other. The VTS is lower, the windows are a lot darker and it looks more menacing especially with the lights on.

So my car shopping list now reads VTS wheels, window tints, sound deadening and an Intergra Type R

rant over...

Haha mate what you need to do is get some tints, colour coding and wheels and lowering springs.

Although a teg would be cool just could not bring myself to spend that kind of insurance money on one for what it is. Just cause its an import it goes into group 20.

as you know I have been thinking about getting the VTS alloys for a while now and that has convinced me to get them, but as you say I will have to have the suspension lowered otherwise it will be riding as high as a 4x4 and look as daft as some of the corsa's that where out last night!!

The integra we saw last night was very nice indeed but I know what you mean about the insurance!! I could have a standard Impreza STI for about the same moeny...

Could also pick up an older evo which is what id look at personally if i was spending that kind of cash or a supra etc. You really have to want a teg i think to buy one here well to get a decent one anyway.

Wheels dont look so bad at standard ride height my gaps arent that big really but i swear the suspension has got lower recently or it seems it to me :S

Afterall your only adding around 1/2" if that to your ride high but filling the gap out a bit as well.

If you want to be different though look at the C6 18" wheels i would love a set of those myself.

How much of a drop are you looking at Stuey? Mine is dropped 30mm and the arches still accomodate 18's with 225/40 profiles easily. Was admiring the car while out on a cig break.... :P

My mates got a Integra Type R (Original Shape) good fun cars but personally I couldnt put up with it on a daily basis. OK part of the fun of owning a car with a VTEC heart, however it is worth remembering that these cars are built with limited/no sound proofing.

A trip to the shops fine, 200mile trip tests your sanity...

Again ride is fine for short journeys but unless you enjoy your teeth and fillings (if you have any) hammered out of your mouth, those with falsies need apply...you have the option to painlessly remove before setting out in the Integra.

And it only take 98RON and above

It goes through tyres like no tomorrow

Great fun, but only in short bursts and tiresome on anything other than the track.

A guy in work has the new shape Integra (Imported) and looks a bit naff in the Blue......have read it is supposed to be marginally better in terms of refinement, but then isnt that point of the Integra - the hard-core unrefinment?

The Images of the new Civic Type R due in 2007 look "quite nice" :P

New Civic is a little too Max Power for me.

And the ordinary one i dont like the styling. Too much chrome at the front dont like the lights and the rear glass looks odd in my opinion.

The Integras are great cars but for the money id prefer something else thats better. Considering insurance is group 20 and the cars aint exactly cheap great fun and i would enjoy driving one but dont want that kind of car next want something a lot different.

welsh, if I stick the 17's off the VTS on it will need dropping about 30-40mm I reckon. I had'nt thought about lowering it to accomodate for the bigger wheels until I saw on Corsa on 16's last night and the gap between the wheels and the arches was big enough to climb into. I dont want it sitting on the floor for practicality...

The new civic...I really cant make my mind up about it...on the pictures it looks OK but I want to see one in the metal and in full production readiness so we not it really looks like

I'm in the same mind as Stuey ref the new Civic...I'm still not sure. :P

The type R in the pic seems to hava a shorter nose profile but then may be the angle it was taken at, dunno looks a bit different that the other trad Civics.

In pics they look ok, in real life to me.... too many conflicting angles and shapes and confuses the eyes. Where take the C4 the shapes are flowing and sinuous i get the feeling the designer of the Civic was "on one" :D when he thought the triangular exhausts went well with curved windows and rounded curved bumpers. To many conflicting shapes.

Too much plastic and as Wozza points out too much "bling" on the front. I guess this is to get away from the Arran Knit Cardigan Brigade of Honda Drivers of Old.

The C4 on the other hand always to me looks something special. Never driven a factory standard car where someone has always stopped and commented like I have with the VTS. I was even walking up the street the other weekend and someone had their hands cupped up against the passenger winder having a look in.

Unfortunatly the age demographic of all of the people who commented could be put in the Arran Knit Cardigan Brigade of Honda Drivers of Old...does that say something for the design of the C4? :)

that happened to mine quite a bit...not last night when it was parked next to Hams though hence the "I hate everyone who has a VTS rant" :P

but dont panic, the transforming the VTR into VTS project has begun, got a quote for the windows at dinner time...£200 and they come to you to fit them. And I am going to steal Hams wheels, he doesnt know this yet but I cant imagine there will be that much difference between locking wheel nuts tools...if there is his axles are coming off :P

thanks mate :P even though it is swirl mark tastic!!

I tell you what, you buy the wheels from the exclusive and I will buy your wheels at top money!!

What is the info about the windows??

Shade?, company?, are you keeping the front windows unchanged?, getting them done to the darkest legal shade?, or going illegal?

Really want window tints!

Tell you whats funny the C4 round here gets more attention than the guys in there impreza's and evolutions etc. Then again i see more ferraris driving through town than i do C4's.

What windows you getting done stuey? back 3 or all of them light smoke?

Im having ideas about my car. As in i have mental images of what i want it to look like and what i want under the bonnet etc but at the same time i just think why bother just buy a faster car. But i like my C4 too much i wanna make it a bit different and a bit of a sleeper which means ditching the 1.6. Ok im being a bit of a kid but i just think a V6 under the bonnet of the C4 with around 270bhp without turbos etc would be a blast! And could easily upset a fair few people on the road who think there slow.

Although right now i just wanna buy a Mustang. And also get my car fixed the scratch is annoying me now i go out to my car and sometimes you look at it and it look so nice and then theres a big bloody 30" scratch down the side.

I haven't parked in any public car parks yet, apart from the supermarket, and the only thing I have got from there is some scratches and very small dent in drivers door from either someone that's careless or someone that does not like other people having a nice car. Just glad I did not buy brand new!
