Ciaran2903 Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 I park in public car parks all the time, never had a problem. They only parking faux paux was coming out of our drive. Having four cars in a two car driveway is not a great situation! (jag and a land rover being two of them! They take up way more room than allowed! :P )Hit a damn gate post :P Resulted in a small dent on the rear left wheel arch, noboby noticed it except me! Had to get it fixed :D Quote
Rich_Eason Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 Never driven a factory standard car where someone has always stopped and commented like I have with the VTS. I was even walking up the street the other weekend and someone had their hands cupped up against the passenger winder having a look in. Must be a northern thing all this attention to your cars :P Look dad, theres a car! Aye son, your're right. Don't see many cars up north  I'm no further North than Bristol...! so to me that classed as South West! I parked the VTS up once and some peeps were what I though "giving me evils" because I stole their space or something. As I turned off the engine they walked over and started to comment on the car...never had I ever had that....again they were in the "knitted cardi demographic" :P Quote
Rich_Eason Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 Ciaran2903, you sound to me like you have more "dings" than the number 73 bus.... Quote
wozza Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 See the people round here that i have met and spoke to who have commented on my car have been young couple other guys similar ago to me early 20's had coupes i have seen knocking about. Need to rpint off some flyers or soemthign to give to people help get them signed up here lol. Quote
Rich_Eason Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 What about discreet screen transfers for the e.g. back window? My mate has it for his skydiving club.... Oh alot of comments from the younger generation as well, mainly Cardi Wearing ones hold the "conversations" though Quote
Ciaran2903 Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 Ciaran2903, you sound to me like you have more "dings" than the number 73 bus....No, one ding from the driveway, which is not uncommom (everyone in the family has had a scratch/dent etc from the driveway! It is stupid that we have 4 cars in it, but there is nothing that we can do about it) and the accident, not down to my maneuverability skills.Everyone who has seen me get out of our drive, move cars around for them, get in tight spaces etc etc has commented about my maneuverability being great. Best ever was a builder, i got blocked in at the vets, my mum said that it was not possible to get out, so she offered help (after nigh on demanding to get the van moved! which i also refused), i said "NO"! I looked at it for a second, got in the car, got out the space in a flash (with a smug look on my face directed to my mum :P :D )A builder (incidently the one who blocked me in!) came over and said "You did that really well mate!" Our gardener still cant believe the spaces i can get my dads jag (s-type) in! :D I always blow his mind!! :D  Sometimes i think that he enjoys it! :P Oh and a friend was in the car with me, and i spotted a space to parrallel park, pulled up and made it in one maneuver and he said "Now that is a great parallel park!!" i have been maneuvering big cars since i was about 15. If my Dad trusts me to maneuver his 3rd child then thats all the defence i need!! He has a scratch that is bloody impossible to see, and he is getting it fixed at a cost! At least that my dent WAS visible to others (just :P ) Quote
Stuey Posted August 22, 2006 Author Posted August 22, 2006 in responce to the tints thing, I am undecided wether to go for light smoke or light black. I am swaying towards black at the moment and it will be matching all round including the back windows. Ham, you know I am the voice of reason!! do it, you know you want to. Get rid of those boy racer wheels. I have already been tared with that brush so it doesnt bother me  Quote
wozza Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 Thinking about getting mine done but not sure yet Think next thing i want to do after the colour coding is done is sound deadening. Quote
Stuey Posted August 22, 2006 Author Posted August 22, 2006 I have come to a conclusion...sound deadening is only needed on 1 of my CD's. So I will just have to put up with it when I listen to that CD. Quote
wozza Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 It actually increases sound quality gives more bass etc as well. Might not be as needed on the stock system but on mine i really do need it it just annoys me spending so much money on the stuff. Its not cheap for what it is. Quote
Stuey Posted August 22, 2006 Author Posted August 22, 2006 the stock speakers do the job in the car. If I want sound quality I will use the stereo in the house, but as you say it will make a load of difference in yours... Quote
Stuey Posted August 22, 2006 Author Posted August 22, 2006 Project VTS has hit a problem. I have run out of money. I spoke to Cituning about having the car lowered to fit the VTS wheels (basically to stop it looking like a 4x4) and they want £200 for 30mm drop springs they are Eibach so the make is reliable but I cant justify the money to be honest. By the time I have bought the wheels, tyres and springs it will be cracking on for £700. So the shopping list now reads:- Wheels and tyres £500 approxLowering springs £200Window tints £200Pillars spraying £100 approx anyone want to give me money?? Quote
wozza Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 Get the wheels first and just slap them on there and see how it looks first. Theres a fairly big arch gap although i think mine looks a bit lower now pic from when i first got the car all out of focus but im blaming the camera its old and has no adjustment at all. http://mybigspoon.com/wozza/Car%20pictures...s/C4%20side.JPG My repairs and colour coding is coming to the total of £350. £250 for the repairs and rub strips and pillars are only £50 if done at the same time otherwise they would have been £80. Stuey Posted August 22, 2006 Author Posted August 22, 2006 if it looks like that I dont mind, mind you the suspension settings on our cars should be the same in theory...I cant imagine that Citroen have different suspension on all the models... Quote
wozza Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 Well i dont think it looks as bad in person you can judge for yourself in a couple weeks though unless you get the wheels before the meet. Quote
Stuey Posted August 22, 2006 Author Posted August 22, 2006 I dont think I will have them in time to be honest. Like I said before if it looks like yours in that picture I can live with that. Nothing is going to be done before the meet, insurance is due on the 2nd so the meet will be done on credit card for me. Bless you Capital One, bless you :P Quote
wozza Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 haha yeah had to loan money from my mum in order to get mine repaired as i was about £70 short after all my bills etc. She can get it next month since my visa is only just starting to get paid off theres now over £100 available on it for the first time in around 4 years.
