wozza Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 Bit of a shame so your looking at selling it to buy another one not just selling it and moving onto another car? Quote
C4VTRhdi Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 Yes id buy another one I think they are a fantastic car, not like citroens of old. MY g/f has a new Golf and id have the C4 over it everytime. It beats it for refinement, looks, handling. Although I would take a Gti or R32 ;-) Is there anyone who would like to buy my C4 make me an offer (Ciaran) lol or any owner who wants to cut their tax , insurance and will swap me a 110 or vts? You gotta ask lol Quote
wozza Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 True you have to try. Why i go everywhere asking if they do student discount or if they will give me discount if i buy a few things etc. Never know unless you ask and quite a few times it has worked. Quote
Mat Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 Although i think the 110 only comes in VTR+ trim doesnt it?Same as the 1.6 petrol only comes in VTR+. My VTR is 1.6 petrol Quote
wozza Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 Its the VT it doesnt come on.... I didnt say VTR its the forums mistake and yours! Quote
Ciaran2903 Posted August 22, 2006 Author Posted August 22, 2006 Ciaran im thinking of selling my C4 in wicked red on an 05 plate. Its a 1.6 vtr hdi 92 bhp and is group 4 insurance so would be ideal for you. My father is the one who is dealing with the purchase (quite rightly too, his money, his rules). I think that he is interested in a C4 somewhere not too far from here, i THINK that we may be going up there on the weekend so i am not too sure. What does the diesel sound like? because i LOVED the sound of the 1.4 petrol (for what it was! :P ) I will mention it to him. Also i have never seen a red one yet, i would need to see a red one b4 i got one! Where do you live? Quote
C4VTRhdi Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 Hi Ciaran im in Lancashire where abouts are you? Ill be honest a diesel wont sound as good as a petrol but it will feel quicker. As diesels go though it is pretty quiet. The turbo boost from just under 2000 rpm is also very addictive, plus you get more pull on the motorway. Mix that with amazing fuel consumption and group 4 insurance its very cheap to run. Also red is one of the best colours check out the poll. The car has just been serviced by citroen in Barnsley, has 6 months tax, oh and is on an 05 plate with 26k on the clock. I know what car you want is a very personal decision so its up to you. Quote
Ciaran2903 Posted August 22, 2006 Author Posted August 22, 2006 That is a bit too far to be honest. Also i just found out that we are going up to romford on thursday to look at a black 1.4 VTR. I am interested in a diesel. (because i will soon end up paying for petrol :P ) That reminds me......i better get the tints, alloys etc etc before i end up paying for petrol :D :D . ..........anyway, back to the matter at hand, i dont think that it will be a go to be honest, a bit too far and also about a day late. But maybe the one in romford will be a pig.........(now that i now the faults to look out for i can give the salesman a run for his money B) :D :D ) Im sure that it wont be too hard to sell, great economy, awesome car (biased?........me? :P ), looks to kill, good value ect ect Quote
Z3M Roadster Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 If you are to be paying for fuel you ought to get a petrol as diesel is more expensive. You have to drive quite a few miles in order for a diesel to pay for itself. Although through preference if it were the choice of a 1.4 petrol or a 1.6 diesel, I would choose the latter every time. Enjoy Romford, it's a horrible place. Only about half an hour from me. Quote
wozza Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 Why i choose the 1.6 petrol over the diesel cheaper and i wouldnt make my money back on a diesel only doing 12 - 15k a year. Quote
Ciaran2903 Posted August 23, 2006 Author Posted August 23, 2006 Found out that the one in Romford had just been sold <_< Sure one will pop up near here soon Quote
Z3M Roadster Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 I didn't appreciate quite how cheap you can buy a C4 for 2nd hand. There is an 05 plate 1.6VTR+ on Autotrader for £6,000 with 25k on the clock. You could buy that and spend the remainder on insurance. Quote

Probably stolen, or their mates dads brothers sisters car. :P Personally I would buy from a garage, as you will get more protection if anything goes wrong. I don't care how much I could save off a dealer price. Whenever I have called up private ads in papers and magazines like autotrader, they always reply with which car? or I am selling it for a friend. It is never their own car. <_< Quote
Z3M Roadster Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 There are quite a few under the £7k mark on autotrader. After the experience with mine I would certainly want to buy one from a dealer for comfort when things go wrong with it. Otherwise I would happily buy privately, certainly considerably cheaper. Quote

That is very interesting, but that is a 5 door and my heart is set on a 3 door (as previous C4). There is a bargain to be had for someone out there! <_< Quote
wozza Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 If the car is only a year or 2 old remember you still have full manufacturers warranty buying it private so nothing to worry about really any probems get it to a dealer and its sorted. Quote
