Zoso60 Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Hey all, Had a C4 back in January with the factory fitted bluetooth option. Paired fine with my Nokia thanks to the Citroen garage, but i have recently upgraded my phone to a Samsung. Now, i can pair the Samsung with the C4 so that the conversation comes through the speakers, and i can answer the call using the steering wheel, but i cannot scroll through the sim card phone numbers and make calls like i used to. Am i missing something here? I've tried everything but to no avail. The procedure i went through was the following; 1. Turned on car and turned on Samsung bluetooth2. Searched for new devices on the phone, 'C4' was an option3. Paired with 'C4' and input the password4. Now paired with 'C4' and calls can be accepted. Can anyone shed anylight please? Much appreciated Zoso Quote
Ciaran2903 Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 I believe that it is a compatiability issue, I think someone on a previous post mentioned the same thing. They also listed the phones that had that issue, not sure where that post is though........oh, it might be titled "Accessories" or something similar, i will have a look. Samsung D500 - you can make calls and receive calls through the kit but you have to use phone key pad, and speak through car mic. Start and end calls using phoneNo ability to scroll through phone book entries etc by steering wheel or dash control....just very very basic use. Motorola Pebl - Make/Receive Calls via steering wheel control, navigate phone book signal strength displayed battery condition displayed, full functionality of the Bluetooth kit. Unfortunatly these are the only two phones I have tried but have a marked comparison in the Bluetooth Kit function. This is obviously due to the way the phones are configured by the manufacture for Bluetooth --------------------Wicked Red C4 VTS Does this help?? Quote
wozza Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Could be a compatibility issue or could be the actual phone theres varying parts to bluetooth and it may not have all the functions the nokia did. Know my friends samsung cant do everything my sony one can do via bluetooth. Quote
Rich_Eason Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 The Samsung phones only connect to the C4 as a "headset". I know Motorola connect and permit full functionality of the handset scrolling menus signal strenght battery indicator. Wondering if its worth making a sticky with a list of phones/associated functions so that we can use it for future reference? Quote
wozza Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Compile a list and i'll set it as a sticky if you want. Quote
Rich_Eason Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 OK Wozza will do, will i need to start it as a seperate thread? Footnote...it happens with the Samsung D500 at least When paired with the C4 and you go out of signal with a base station, you loose the paired connection with the C4 and need to re-establish it. Very anoying when you live near the country and signal quality is sporadic Quote
wozza Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Can do it as a new thread or in here. The post can be moved to its own thread and made a sticky. Quote
Zoso60 Posted August 24, 2006 Author Posted August 24, 2006 Cheers guys. Its a Samsung Z400 i've got so it may just be a Samsung issue. Thanks again for your help dudes  Quote
