C4VTRhdi Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 Hi im selling my C4 in wicked red on an 05 plate it is the 92bhp hdi vtr cheap tax at £60 for 6 months, group 4 insurance and is actually very nippy. It is has a full dealer history, serviced just 2 weeks ago, and comes with 6 months road tax, and is in absolute mint condition having covered 26 k. The reason im selling is I bought it from a citroen dealer 2 weeks ago and was in the knowledge it was the 110bhp version(my mistake not the dealers). So this is the reason for the sale @ £8800 ive checked autotrader and the rest and there isnt a cheaper vtr hdi out there. Anyone interested is welcome to come and inspect just get in touch. Quote
Ciaran2903 Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 Isn't there a 30-day no quibble return?? Im sure Citroen do that! This is on the citroen used car website! 30 Day ExchangeWe would expect that with all of the safeguards that have been included within the Citroën Approved Used Car Programme, there would be very few reasons that you would ever need or want to return your vehicle. However should you not be completely satisfied with your purchase for any reason, Citroën offer a 30-day no quibble exchange. This commitment allows you to exchange your initial purchase for any other Citroën Approved Used vehicle available at the original supplying retailer.* *Subject to terms and conditions. Please check your local Citroën Approved retailer for details. It does say that you have to exchange it for any other used citroen from the same retailer, so they may not have what you want, but could they not let you wait?!? :P Quote
hertsnminds Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 I know on paper there is a difference between the 92 and 110 engines but how much can you notice this on a day to day basis? On paper the 110 gives 7MPH more at the top end and 0-60 takes 1s less but you get 1MPG more from the 92. CO2 emissions seem higher in the 92 125g/km instead of 120g/km. IanBLack 55 VTR+ Quote
pork_pie Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 As I was about to say before I pressed "Enter" too soon Are you going to change your 92 for a 110? If so then do it QUICK before the 30 days is up. You can even get your dealer to order a used 110 from another dealership if they don't have one but is it really worth the faff? For a start it's slightly better on fuel and cheaper to insure. Theres only a slight power and torque difference of 18 bhp and lb/ft unless you fancy the extra toys and shelling out more money Also your purchase might be unique in that the first owner wil have absorbed the teething problems thats common with most Citroens. Keep us posted. Quote
C4VTRhdi Posted August 27, 2006 Author Posted August 27, 2006 Cheers guys your helping me to make my mind up a little bit. Not sure if the extra torque or power makes a massive difference having never driven a 110, but hopefully at the meet someone will be kind enough to let me have a ride in the 110 and see if it is worth the extra dough. I do really like my car especially in red, and as for the toys well there are one or two I would like, like the armrest (think these can be retro fitted?). Mind you I do have my eye on a hdi vts which I think would be worth the extra cash. Think i need a little more time to think about it. Quote
wozza Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 If you want the 110 but dont want to shell out more for it how about a remap? WIll only be around £300 but should get you over the 120bhp figure if you really want it sure it would work out the same price as its not easy to tell its been done you just need to tell citroen the battery was disconnected for something if they ask they should not be able to tell that its had a different map on it. Quote
C4VTRhdi Posted August 27, 2006 Author Posted August 27, 2006 Wozza ive looked into the remap this is an option, It gives you 118bhp and 189lb/ft of torque which is an improvement over the 110. What if I could get the vts and remap that mmmmm that would be quick :P Quote
wozza Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 Not all of the VTS' can be mapped up but the ones that can will be on close to 180bhp and have massive amounts of torque. Also usually notice an improvment in MPG due to getting rid of flat spots so driving it the same way you used to will see an increase however with more power theres always the urge to nail the throttle a bit more so obviously will use more than it ever did before that way. bill03 Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 I swapped from a 92 to 110 on a Picasso and would never again consider a 92.. Difference may not seem much but it's certainly noticable, IMO. :P Quote
wozza Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 Another way to look at it is the difference between a 1.4 and a 1.6 petrol theres a deffinite difference between them when driving and easy to tell the 1.6 is usually quicker driven the 1.4 petrol C4 and i know my 1.6 feels a fair bit quicker. Power wise there comparable the 2 HDI's but since i have not driven a C4 HDI i cant comment on it properly. Quote
Mike5483 Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 There will be a definate, noticable difference between 92BHP and 110BHP. After all, its a change of 20BHP, and when you consider you can probably feel a change of about 5BHP, then 20will be obvious. Id love to get mine remapped, but I think its an ECU out job, which means I'll be without a car, plus, there is the warrenty to think about. Quote
